Author's Notes: I have kept to the BtVS/Angel canon to the end of i and season 4 of Angel. After that, It's my little world! Excerpt from "Hungry and Horny" by Willowfan(From Willow's Window), used by permission. I highly recommend you read that story(not to mention *all* of Willowfan's stuff), if you haven't already. This will make *so* much more sense one you have. Once again, Willowfan said I could take this story and run with it. It's the only reason you're seeing it. Anyway, onward..
Pairing: Willow/Kennedy/Faith
Summary: Picks up at the end of Hungry and Horny. The three women talk it out.
Willow walks over to Faith and pulls her into a hug. She kisses her cheek, "I love you Faith-" whispers the witch.
She opens her eyes and looks at the Slayer and the redhead. "It can't work."
"Why?"
"It never does-" whispers the dark Slayer.
"Do you love me?" asks the redhead. Faith swallows hard and nods as tears fall. "Then trust me-I won't let anyone hurt you." She leans forward and kisses her lips softly. She pulls back and just holds the woman tightly. Kennedy moves behind Faith and wraps her arms around her as well.
Faith's head rests on Willow's shoulder. The young Slayer leans forward until her lips touch the redhead's. As she pulls back she smiles slightly. "I love you Red."
"I love you too." Answers Kennedy.
Then Faith speaks her words soft and nervous. "I love you-both of you."
Time seems to stand still for the three women as they stand locked into their tight embrace. Faith trembles slightly as she holds the redheaded witch in her arms, while her fellow Slayer holds her. She lifts her head, then slowly starts closing the distance between herself and Willow, clearly intending a kiss, but then stops and pulls back a little. Another look of doubt crosses her face.
Willow, leaning in herself, also eases back, a little confused. "What's wrong, sweetie?" The witch puts on her best sexy pout. "Don't you want to kiss me?"
"Huh? Um. yes! Every chance I get, but I really don't want to mess you guys up. I mean, you two have such a great thing going and I know how messed up I am, and..." The dark Slayer suddenly stops speaking and gives a small moan as she feels a pair of lips gently press a kiss into her neck, just below her ear. Faith feels her eyes close as she leans back into the smaller girl behind her.
Willow watches as Kennedy softly nuzzles Faith's throat, a small smile playing on her lips. When the older Slayer had started, yet again, trying to tell them why they shouldn't accept her into their lives, the two lovers had shared a look and a smile. Then Kennedy thinks to her witch.
[How many times do you think she's going to try to save us from her bad influence before she accepts that we want her with us?]
[Probably a couple a day for a few days] Willow answers [Any ideas?]
Kennedy's smile becomes a lecherous grin. [Yeah] she thinks to her witch. [Follow my lead?] Willow nods slightly.
Now as the younger girl slowly kisses and licks the older Slayer's neck, Willow leans in and gently kisses first one corner of Faith's mouth, then the other before gently capturing the dark haired girl's lower lip between her own. The witch sucks on Faith's lip for a few seconds before deepening the kiss. Lips begin working up and down, with the redhead darting her tongue in and out of her older Slayer's mouth, trying to get Faith to reciprocate. Just as air is starting to be a problem, the dark Slayer finally begins to respond and their tongues duel for a moment before they have to break apart and breathe.
Faith eases forward until her forehead touches Willow's. Her thoughts are racing as she tries to process all that's happening, the sensations of the witch's kiss, Kennedy's increasingly insistent nuzzling and licking of her throat and neck. Her lingering confusion with the situation, her desire for Willow, well, both women balanced against never wanting to hurt her witch or Slayer again. Her thoughts slither to a halt suddenly as her own words register in her mind. Her witch. Her Slayer. The dark Slayer's eyes pop open as she thinks about that, then slam closed again as her head is thrown back with a low moan. The younger Slayer has found her pulse point and is sucking on it, not quite hard enough to leave a mark, but enough to make her crazy. Turning her head suddenly, Faith captures Kennedy's lips for a searing kiss and now it's the younger girl's turn to moan.
Willow watches her Slayers kiss and grins impishly before reaching in and nibbling on Faith's earlobe for a second before her tongue starts to trace the same path Kennedy did on the other side.
The Slayer's kiss breaks apart as Faith gasps. Reluctantly pulling her head back, the dark Slayer gently removes herself from both women's reach, trying hard to organize her thoughts enough for speech. "Uh... guys?" is all she can manage though.
Kennedy and Willow each tilt their heads enough to see each other and grin. The younger girl leans around her older counterpart and places a gentle kiss on her witch's lips, letting her know all's well with them. Moving as one, they both slip their arms down and around the girl standing between them. Kennedy reaches around Faith and wraps a finger through a belt loop on either side of the redhead's slender waist. Willow does the same, her arms over top her everything's, fingers tucked into the top of the other girl's waistband. Kennedy lays her head on Faith's shoulder in such a way that she can watch the other Slayer's profile and her girl's face.
The redhead smiles endearingly at her girl, then refocuses on Faith. "Baby? You ok?"
Faith stands there panting slightly, waiting for Kenn to answer. After a moment, she looks at the girl in front of her "Red?"
Willow releases the left side of Kennedy's waist and reaches up to cup the dark Slayer's cheek, feeling Faith instinctually lean into her hand. "Are you alright, sweetie? You kinda pulled away from us." The redhead suddenly looks unsure. "You don't want us, me to...?"
Faith suddenly looks scared. "No,no! I mean, yes... I mean... " She gives a little smile. "Brain not really working yet, Red."
The other two girls giggle. Faith's smile widens a bit, hearing this, then her expression sobers. "I - I'm still not real sure about this, y'know? I mean, even an idiot like me can see how good you guys are together. An-and I know you said you love me, and I love you, but, Red, if it's a choice between being with you guys or maybe splitting you up, I'd rather..."
Faith's words stop as she feels lips on hers and, after a second or two, she returns the kiss. Willow pulls back and smiles at her.
"Uh, Willow? Not that I'm complaining, but what was that for? I was kinda tryin' to make a point."
The redhead laughs and shrugs. "That's how Kennedy stops me when I start babbling." The younger woman smiles. "Thought I'd see if it works on you, too."
"Really? Have to remember that." Kennedy chuckles at this, her breath causing a tickling sensation on Faith's neck. "What I was trying to say, was, things are goin' really fast here. Not that I'd normally mind that, but..."
Willow places two fingers on her lips. "Sweetie, listen. We told you we want you with us, and we do! Kenn and I talked about this, us and you, together, and we're both good with the whole idea. You are not going to split us up, so that thought needs to go, understand? We both love you and want you, so please don't worry, ok?"
Faith looks at the witch for a second, the corners of her eyes wet. Very softly, she says, "I'll try."
Willow pulls both her girls into a hug and lays her head on Faith's other shoulder.
Kennedy's thoughts fill her girl's mind. [Red, baby? I think we should let her think about stuff for a while. Not push her, you know?]
[Am I being pushy-girl? I don't mean to be! I just want her here and to not run off again and not be scared and..]
[Breathe, Red. It's ok] Kennedy's mental voice was light with laughter. [I just meant that maybe we slow down the make-out session and talk. The three of us. You know, on the sofa, maybe a snack, maybe a movie, I don't know. Something like that]
Willow calms a bit [Yeah, ok. That's probably a good idea]
"Uh, guys?" Both Willow and Kennedy refocus on the girl between them. "The quiet's kinda creepin' me out. Were you doin' the talkin' in your heads thing again?"
Kennedy grins and Willow looks down for a second, then back up, saying, "I'm sorry Faith. Kenn was just saying that it's been kind of a long day and we wanted to know if you wanted sit down and talk some more. On the sofa, though, cause, w-we were just thinking that maybe you're right, things are going a bit fast, so maybe we should slow down a little. But, not stop or anything, y'know, just maybe sit together or, or watch a movie, or..."
Suppressing a giggle, Kennedy whispers in to Faith's ear for a second, then the older Slayer lunges forward, pressing her lips into Willow's, using a kiss to stop the Willowbabble. For a split second, the redhead's eyes widen, then she relaxes into the kiss and begins to respond. Lips move against lips for a moment, before the dark Slayer eases back, then forward again for one more, almost chaste kiss, then pulls back with a smile.
As she looks toward the younger Slayer, the smile turns into a smirk. "You were right, Junior."
"Works every time"
The witch looks at her Slayers and realizes they're teasing her and rolls her eyes, giving a little groan. She recognizes a "stop the babble" kiss, even though this one was from Faith. Giving both women a half smile, she presses a soft kiss into Kennedy's forehead, then Faith's cheek, before starting to pull herself out of their embrace.
"I'm going to get us some tea. Why don't you guys head for the sofa, or pick out a movie?"
Kennedy smiles at her witch before tightening her hold on Faith for a second. She swiftly kisses Faith's temple, then releases the older Slayer. "No, Red. I'll take care of that. You take care of our girl here."
"Our girl?" Faith asks, with a smirk. "So I'm our girl now?"
"If that's what you want." Willow replies, looking hopeful.
Faith looks down slightly. "Yeah. I think I do." She looks back up, then at both women, first Kennedy, then Willow with a little, half smile. "Guess we should talk, huh?"
A smile. "Yeah, we should. You go with Will and I'll get us all some tea, ok?"
"Kenn? Faith doesn't like tea." Willow says, stopping her young lover. A glance at her new lover. " Soda?"
The dark Slayer smiles again. "You remembered. Actually, believe it or not, I'm in the mood for hot chocolate."
The redheaded witch perks up at this. "That sounds really good! Can I have extra marshmallows, baby?"
"No. No extra for you, cause I can resist you in all things. I be back in a few minutes. TV room?" Willow nods and Kennedy heads for the kitchen.
Part 2
Willow takes Faith by the hand and leads her toward what has become the rec room for the house. The room had a very large screen tv with a dvd/vcr/stereo set-up surrounded by two very large sofas and a couple overstuffed armchairs, with two bookcases full of movies flanking the tv. The other side of the room had a couple computers, complete with a recharging port for Willow's Powerbook, and a couple tables with lots of chairs. Several bookcases line the walls on that side of the room, full of books for researching whatever apocalypse-y things come from living on a hellmouth.
Willow and Faith head over to one of the sofas and sit down. Willow starts to say something, but the other girl puts two fingers on her lips, stopping her from speaking.
"Ok Red, look... If you were going to start to tell me all the reasons why I'm wrong about me and you guys, please don't."
"Why not?" Her eyes start to leak, tears start down her cheeks. "You, you said you loved me. Was that a lie?"
The dark Slayer lunges forward, wrapping her new-found love in a hug. "No! Nothing like that! God, I'm so sorry! I started that all wrong, really. It's ok. I mean it!"
The distraught wicca takes a deep breath, trying to calm down. Pulling back a bit and looking up into the dark haired girl's eyes, she asks, "So you don't wanna bail? You want to stay with me? With us?"
Faith leans in and places a soft kiss on Willow's cheek, forehead and finally lips, lingering there for a moment. "I'm not goin' anywhere, Red. At least, not without you and Junior. That's what I was trying to say a minute ago. That, and, I-I realized what you guys meant to me when I thought earlier that I didn't want to hurt either you or Kennedy. When I thought that, I- I, God this is hard!"
"It's ok, sweetie. Take your time."
Faith gets up and walks toward the movie racks, takes a really deep breath, then turns back toward Willow. "When I thought that I didn't want to hurt you guys, I thought of you as my witch and my slayer. That's pretty much when I figure I'd lost my argument. At least with myself." She takes another deep breath, and looks directly into green eyes, eyes she loves. "I-I'm in love with you, Willow. At least, I think I am. Like I told K, I've never been in love before, but I figure this is how it feels."
Another deep breath. "You're pretty much all I think about. Well, sometimes you and Junior together. Sometimes just Kenn, I admit," the Slayer says with a half grin. "Guess that means I like her, too, huh?"
"Probably yeah," Willow replies with a chuckle.
Faith laughs a little, then her expression sobers again. "Something else I gotta say here, Red. About tonight." Both women look a little uncomfortable, but Faith also appears determined. Neither see Kennedy at the doorway.
Two deep breaths, then she starts pacing. "Th-the guy you and K saw me with, guess I don't need to say he didn't mean anything. What I-I do need to say is nothing happened. With him, I mean. I-I-I mean, we kissed a little, did the touchy-feely thing, but I stopped him before anything could get very far. Like off the dance floor. The whole time he was chewin' on my neck, all I could think of was how he wasn't anywhere near as good as you or Kenn. That thought lead to the night before, which made feel like I was doing something I shouldn't have. I-I mean, I was, but I've never had that kind of thought before and I didn't know to handle it. I-I mean, here I was with a guy that a month ago, I'd have screwed til he passed out, then come home and ordered a pizza, y'know?" she says with a laugh, even though tears have started streaming down her face. Her pacing increases.
"As- as much as I wanted to make this guy just like any other post-slay screw-a-thon, all I could think of when he was all over me was the look I'd see on your face if you could've seen me. I wasn't worried if that idiot got mad when I walked off. I wasn't worried about Kennedy kicking my ass. Just that look. The look," Faith stops pacing and looks at Willow, but not quite her eyes. "The look I saw after K tried to break my jaw."
Willow starts toward the girl in front of her, wanting to take her in her arms and tell her it's ok and that's she's wanted and loved. As she starts forward, Faith drifts back and holds her hand up. Willow stops, confused.
The Slayer looks down. "I need to finish, Red."
"Sweetie, I don't want you to beat yourself up about this. You don't have to do this."
"Yeah, I do. If I really want to be with you and Kenn, more than just a few nights of sex and then lots of bad feelings, I gotta do this." Suddenly, she can't stand anymore and collapses onto the sofa behind her. She notices that she's crying and angrily wipes her face.
Willow sits on the other one, facing the distraught woman.
Faith looks at the floor for a moment, obviously composing her thoughts. When she looks up again, more tears start to fall, but she looks directly into the redhead's eyes. "Here's what I know right now. I-I love you, Willow. An-and I'm in love with you. I love Kennedy, too. Not completely sure I'm in love with her, but it feels like things are heading that way.
"I'm not asking either of you to forgive me for everything that happened tonight. All I'm asking is a chance to make up for it. A chance to keep being friends, anyway." The Slayer looks back down as she finishes speaking and waits to hear whether her world will continue or end.
Her answer comes, not from the beautiful wicca in front of her, but behind her. "I think I can speak for both Red and myself, Faith, when I say there's nothing to forgive." Kennedy moves into the room and sets the tray in her hands on the coffee table between the sofas. Then she sits beside the Slayer and reaches over to take her hand. Willow gets up and comes over to kneel of Faith's other side and takes her other hand.
The younger girl catches the older's eye and continues. "Like you said, you've never been in love before and you had a little freak-out. It's totally understandable." Kenn smiles at her everything. "Willow's the first person I ever fell in love with, too. Didn't really know what was going on then, just that I needed to be around her as much as I could. I mean, my eyes do work, so I knew she was gorgeous, and sexy, and I wanted her on sight, but love? I so did not do the love thing! Nope! Not me. A few days, or even weeks of sex, then move on to the next girl. That was me. Well," she amended, "me before Sunnydale and Willow."
Kennedy looked at her girlfriend as she said her final words and noticed how hard Willow was blushing and reached out with her free hand to cup the woman's face, soothing the burning sensation. Willow turned her head slightly and kissed the palm. When she was sure she had the redhead's attention, she mouthed "I love you", then reached for Willow's free hand and kissed it.
Faith's attention was still mostly on the younger Slayer, though she was unconsciously gently rubbing her thumb across the back of Willow's hand. "What changed?", she asked.
Kennedy had trouble pulling herself out of the emerald pools she so adored. "Huh?"
"I asked what made you realize you were falling for Red here. I mean, I know what I see in her. Y'know, what I'm falling for. I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of things that are the same for both of us, but what was first for you? What happened that made you think that you had to be fallin' in love?"
The younger woman thought for a moment. "Two things, actually. Well, the same thing, just two different times. To be honest, our I thought our girl here was going to kill me both times."
Willow's face flushed, thinking of the times her everything was referring to. Faith, on the other hand, had a look of astonishment. Recovering quickly, she asked, "I assume you're gonna explain that?"
"Sure. Have you heard by now about how Will kinda turned into a guy for a day back at the beginning of the whole First thing?" A nod. "Ever get the details, especially how it got fixed?"
"Just that you had something to do with it," Faith replied.
"Well, the short story is, I tricked Will into going on a date with me. I mean, here I am, being threatened with a violent death, and the only thing on my mind is 'How do I get the hot redhead alone for a few minutes to talk'." Faith smiled at that, totally understanding. "So I faked being sick to get out a field trip with Giles and Red and I ended up at the Bronze. When we got back home, we kissed and she turned into Warren. Freaked me out, big time.
"Anyway, turns out, it's a spell, of course, courtesy of Amy Madison, a witch Will went to school with. Amy was jealous that Will's a hell of a lot more powerful than she is and that Will's a natural with magic, but Amy has to study all the time to be any good at all. Anyway, we end up in Buffy's backyard with Red wavin' a gun in my face, telling me she'd gonna kill me and me trying to talk her down. While we're talking, Will gets this look on her face, kinda lost and desperately wanting help, so I do the first thing I can think of. I kissed her. It broke the spell."
Faith slowly nodded as she listened. "Ok, I think I understand everything but what caused the spell. I mean, you guys kiss a lot, but I haven't noticed any new faces in the house. What triggered the spell?"
"Guilt." Both women turned to look at the witch. "It was guilt that triggered it and chose the form."
Kennedy looks at her lover with concern in her eyes. "Sweetie, if you don't want to do this now..." She herself was complete ok with what happened, but knew that Willow still occasionally had nightmares over nearly shooting her.
"Yeah, " Faith finishes for her, seeing the redhead's distress. "I can wait to hear your part of the story. Neither of us wants to pull up old pain."
Willow pulls both girl's hands up and kisses them. "No, it's ok. I'm ok with what happen, really." She kisses Kennedy's hand again. "Basically, when Kenn kissed me the first time, she surprised me, but then I started to kiss her back. The feeling of wanting to kiss her really got me confused, because part of me saw that as betraying Tara. You remember Tara?" Faith nods.
"Amy's spell was for me to punish myself for anything I might be feeling guilty over. When I kissed Kenn, all I could think of was that I was killing my memory of Tara so I could replace her with Kennedy. The idea that I was killing Tara's memory got caught up with Amy's spell and I took on the appearance of the Warren Meers, the man who actually did kill Tara. Later, both before and after Kenn and I beat the spell, Kenn made me realize I could love more than one person. That no one could or would 'replace' Tara, just join her in my heart. I'm pretty sure that that's when I started to fall in love with her."
The dark Slayer sat lost in thought for a moment, a smile slowly growing as she thought of what the others had told her. Things made a lot more sense now. She shook her head suddenly and looked toward her Slayer. "You said Red tried to kill you twice?"
Kennedy smiled. "Well, kinda, yeah. Did Buffy show you that box she got from Wood that his mom left behind?"
"Yeah. She said it was some kind of 'Slayer keepsake', but that it was pretty much useless. Why?"
"Well, the way she found out it was 'useless' was to use it. It opens a portal to the men who created the Slayer in the first place. Buffy went into the portal and a big demon came out. To get Buffy back, we had to reopen the portal and throw the demon in. I talked Willow into trying to magic the portal open while Spike got the demon. Anyway, Will was chanting, trying to work the mojo and just didn't have enough raw power, so she borrowed it. Me and Anya were the closest and most powerful, so we ended up with our life force drained and thrown into the spell."
Faith just stared at the younger girl. Finally, she managed, "That hadda hurt."
Kennedy just nodded, carefully not looking at her girl. The event still haunted her witch, the fact that she had hurt her love and might have lost her. Willow still wouldn't truly believe that Kennedy didn't hold it against her and never would. The young Slayer simply looked at Faith and continued, with a chuckle. "Worse than when Caleb try to blow us up.
"Seriously, though, I was mad and hurt and lashed out. Will and I didn't talk for days and I avoided her when I could. I can't tell you how much I regret that now, but then, well... I had my ego and pride going, keeping me from talking things out. Basically being an idiot."
"What changed?" the older girl asks.
Kennedy just smiles and looks at Willow. She kisses her beloved's hand before holding it to her cheek. "Xander, actually. He finally got through to me that she missed me and made me see how much I missed her. When that happened, I stopped and looked at what I was doing and realized if I kept doing it, I might loose her. When I looked into the future and Willow wasn't there, that terrified me more than the First or any evil thing ever could. I knew then that I was in love with my Red and that if I didn't fix what my stupid pride had done, it wouldn't matter if the First won."
Willow gives her lover a heart melting look before leaning in for a soft, lingering kiss. A little breathless, she draws back, looking deep into Kennedy's eyes and sees a bottomless sea of love and want. In those eyes, she sees the knowledge that she'd never again be alone, no matter what. Pulling herself out of the chocolate eyes she loves, Willow turns her head slightly and looks into another set of dark eyes. The eyes of someone she has only recently realized she also loves.
With a glance and a smile at her younger Slayer, the wicca releases Faith's hand and cups her cheek, her smile for the older Slayer. Now, her Slayer as well. Leaning in, Faith meets her halfway and they share a tender, yet passion-filled kiss.
They break apart slightly to breath, then collapse back into another passionate kiss, lips beginning to move against lips, tongues starting to dance. A timeless moment later, both women are surprised by the sound of a throat being cleared and pull back, a little guiltily.
Willow looks at her girlfriend, doubt in her eyes and a budding terror in her mind. Kennedy looks back at her, then at Faith, then back to Willow, a very somber expression on her beautiful face. "Sweetie? Is-is sometimes wrong?"
Faith also looks at her fellow Slayer, a very bad feeling beginning to seep into her gut. "Kennedy?"
"Yeah, there's something wrong." Kennedy gives another growl-y look at her lovers, before breaking into a major pout, complete with puppy-dog eyes. "You're making with the smoochies without me."
The other two women just look at her for a moment, not believing for that moment that she was putting them on. They look at each other, knowing what the other was thinking from the scared look of both of their faces.
For the first time, Faith "hears" Willow's mindvoice in her head. [Were you thinking what I was? That she had changed her mind?] A pause. [Just think your answer.]
[Um... can you hear me?] Willow nods a little. [Then, yeah. I was.] Faith suddenly has a very small, but very wicked grin. [You know she has to pay for that, right?]
The witch returns her grin. [Yeppers. Follow my lead?] The other girl nods.
"Yes, we are." Willow releases Kennedy's hand and stands, pulling Faith to her feet. She smiles sadly at her girl, then starts to lead the older Slayer from the room toward the stairs and her room. Neither says anything to the younger girl, but both turn slightly and look back as they get to the doorway leading to the foyer. Now Kennedy has the stunned, scared look.
[Now?]
[Yeah. Can't stand to see her that way. Even if she did ask for it.] Willow thinks.
On cue, both women stop and turn toward their girl and hold out their arms for her. They both smile and nod at her.
Kennedy smiles in relief and falls into their arms. The women enjoy a tight embrace for a moment, before Kennedy pulls back a little, grins and says, "I asked for that, didn't I?"
Her lovers look at each other and say, together, "Yeah!", before they pull her back into a hug. All three squeal as they topple over and end up in a laughing pile.
"Ok, oxygen becoming an issue!"
Faith and Kennedy look at their redhead and quickly scramble to their feet, still chuckling, then pull Willow to her feet.
"Hey, listen. It's been kind of a long day. Think I'm gonna head up to my room and lay down." The dark Slayer quickly, almost shyly, kisses both women on the cheek. "I'll see you guys in the morning, ok?"
"Faith, wait!"
"What is it, Red? I'm kinda tired."
Willow takes a step toward the older girl. "Stay here with us? Kenn and I were going to watch a movie before bed. Watch with us?"
[We were?] Kennedy thought.
[If she goes to her room now, she'll convince herself that we're better off without her.]
"I don't know, Red." Faith replied, unaware of the internal dialog. "I'm a little tired. I was thinking about crashing."
Kennedy chimes in. "Come on. Watch the movie with us. We don't have to talk anymore tonight. Just spend the rest of the evening with us." A smirk crosses her face. "Don't worry. If you pass out, I'll carry you up and tuck you in bed."
A matching smirk. "You gonna tell me a story first, Junior?" She thinks it over for a minute or two. "Ok. You guys win. I'll watch the movie. Besides," she smiles, "I never did get my hot chocolate!"
"Well," Willow replies, "it's cool cocoa now. You two get comfy and I'll get us all a refill."
"I'll take care of that, Will. You take care of the movie and get it set up, and I'll be right back." The young Slayer picks up the tray and head back for the kitchen.
"So, Red, what're we watching?"
Willow looks thoughtful for a moment, then stops Faith from walking over to chair. "Changed my mind. You pick the movie. Maybe one of your favorites? Oh, but nothing really scary or bloody, 'k?"
Faith chuckles. "Ok. Just for you."
Considering the household's primary after-hours concern, it seemed really weird, even for them, that half the house still liked horror movies. But Dawn, Vi and, of course, Faith, still loved them, though Faith usually watched them to make fun of them.
The once dark Slayer looked through the house's movie collection for a minute before spying what she was in the mood for. She started to pull it out, but decided a little image protection was in order. "Do me a little favor, Red?"
"Sure."
Faith reaches out and pulls a movie before turning around. "Anybody else asks, you picked this movie, ok? I mean, it's alright if you know, or Junior, but I'd have to hurt B if she knew I really like it."
Willow giggles. "Sure. What's the tape?" The Slayer extends the case. "Ever After? This is one of my favorites too! I love Drew Barrymore in this one. I mean, not only is she cute, but her attitude, and saying what she means, no matter what, reminds me of Kennedy. Her figure and gentleness remind me of Tara, so she's like both my girls rolled into one!" A thought occurs to her. "Now that I think of it, her hair is the same color as yours, so she's all my girls in one yummy package!" She finishes with another giggle, then blushes when what she said registers. Faith just chuckles and shakes her head at her.
"Always wondered why we watched that one so often."
"Kennedy!" Willow turned and looked at her lover, the guilt she still felt when Tara was mentioned around Kennedy beginning to form on her face. She'd felt a twinge of it earlier when Kennedy had told Faith about the whole Warren spell thing, but this time, the guilty feelings were worse.
"Baby, it's ok, really. I've never really had a problem with the fact that you still love Tara. You always will and that's as it should be. I also know you love me as much as I love you, so it really is ok." She smiles at Faith. "Besides, I recently realized it's possible to be in love with more than one person at the same time."
The redheaded wicca looks from one dark-haired woman to the other. "Guess I've known that one for a while, huh, sweetie."
Kennedy sets the tray back on the table and gathers her love into a hug. She presses a gentle kiss to Willow's forehead. "Still knew it before me, baby." After another quick kiss, the Slayer releases her girl and turns back to the tray she brought into the room.
Faith has already picked up two of the cups in her hands, one overflowing with marshmallows, and hands them to Kennedy before picking up her own. She sets it down again in front of the chair nearest the sofa Willow and Kennedy usually curl up on. Going back over to the tv set up, she puts the movie into the dvd player, picks up the remote, and heads back over to her chair. "You guys ready?"
"You don't want to sit with us?" Willow pouts.
A smirk. "Let me finish this and I could probably be tempted into moving, ok, Red?"
Willow turns all the lights in the room off, except one low power one, and returns to the sofa. Picking up her mug as she came around the table, she snuggles in beside Kennedy. "Ready when you are!"
The women sit and watch and sip their drinks. After twenty minutes or so, Faith sets her empty mug on the table and curls into the chair, her head pillowed on the armrest. She looks over at her companions and sees that Kennedy has curled up in one corner of the sofa and has her head pillowed on Willow's shoulder. [She looks so comfy] she thinks, a little jealous as Willow slips an arm around the brunette.
Returning part of her attention to the movie, the dark Slayer begins to think back over the last few days, starting with Willow's sudden kiss. Then the way Kennedy had said she didn't have anything to apologize for, since she hadn't kissed anyone. [Fixed that, didn't I?] she thinks. Then the mind-blowing event of Kennedy telling her that it was ok if she wanted to make love to Willow, as long as she didn't hurt the redhead.
The Slayer smiles wistfully as she remembers, the three of them, together. So much pleasure as they made love for hours. Was it really just the night before? Her smile fades as she thinks about her anxiety of this morning, her deep desire to not doing anything that might split her two friends up, to be the cause of possible heartbreak. To hurt the two people she loved so much.
Faith remembers her wide-eyed shock as the word love crossed her mind. It was quickly followed by confusion and no small amount of terror. She didn't love anyone, did she? Loving someone led to the chance of them being able to hurt you. Of a bad guy being able to use them against you. She didn't want love. All she wanted was to get some when she was horny and to get gone when she was done with whatever living sex toy had struck her fancy at that moment.
Willow had changed that, though she still had no idea how. Maybe it did go all the way back to when she had first come to Sunnydale. It could just as easily have been when she woke up in Angel's hotel and saw how hot the witch had become. She really didn't know. All the Slayer did know was suddenly, about the only thing she could think of was the redhead. About how gorgeous she was, how much she wanted her. She'd made a couple of soft passes, just bits of quick flirting, a lot like she'd done when she'd first known the young witch.
She was startled when Willow flirted back. True, it was a, yeah I noticed you're cute too kind of flirting, hinting at absolutely nothing, but it had floored the brunette. Her memories of flirting with Willow were of the redhead looking uncomfortable and hastily changing the subject. Then she'd heard Willow talking to Angel about Kennedy, overheard really. That was news to her. Last she'd heard, Willow's girlfriend was named Tara. At least, that was what she remembered from her time in Buffy's body.
Not really understanding why she was being discreet, Faith had pulled Angel aside just before the two women had left for Sunnydale and asked him about Willow's love life. To cover herself, at least she thought she was, she'd also asked about all the scoobies, wanting to know if she should expect any surprises.
Angel had told her about Tara dying, about Xander and Anya's confusing relationship, that Buffy didn't seem to have anyone since Riley had left and that Giles had left, but was now back.
On the trip from LA, Willow had told her the highlights of the last few years in Sunnydale. About the government trying to do a Slayer's job and messing it up royally. About Buffy suddenly having a little sister and all the details of who and what she really was, though that had confused her. Faith remembered Dawn from her time in Sunnydale. She'd always been there, hadn't she? Apparently not. The brunette put the whole, was she there, wasn't she, thing out of her head. 'Little D', as she'd called her four years ago was real, Faith had memories of her, so details were of no importance.
The news that B had died again was a bit of a shocker, as was the little extra headline that Willow had raised her from the dead three and half months later. Faith had noticed Willow getting uncomfortable when she started talking about the more recent events of the last six months, then she'd remembered what Angel has said about Tara. So she'd told the witch that Angel and company had told her a few things. The Slayer figured she could get Xander or maybe B to tell her the rest. She hadn't stopped to wonder why she wanted to spare the redhead the pain of talking about her dead lover, but she did, very badly.
Then the craziness with battling the First, sharing a house with twenty, then thirty-some potential Slayers, with Kennedy the oldest at 19 and most around 15. Then suddenly being declared leader after Buffy was told to leave. The real confusion of dealing with the first stirrings of jealousy when she met Kennedy and saw her and Willow together. She really hadn't understood at the time why, the night she'd spent with Robin, why had she wanted to scream Willow's name each time he'd brought her to orgasm. At the time, she just figured that it had something to do with the fact that she could hear Kennedy and Willow having sex just down the hall from her and Robin, but now, she knew she'd been wrong.
For all her mental wanderings, though, Faith knew now when she'd really started on her long fall for the redheaded beauty. When she'd caught the witch before she could fall by the edge of the crater that used to be Sunnydale. When Kennedy had met her halfway back to the bus and gently took the sleeping woman from her arms, she'd had to fight the urge to attack the younger woman and take her back. The older Slayer had wanted so badly to be the one to hold Willow until she woke up, to be the one to tell her that they'd made and nearly everyone was alive and safe. To keep her safe. Instead, she'd watched Kennedy be the one to hold her, the one to soothe the bad dreams away, to keep her safe, to make love to her.
Up until that point, Faith had never really felt jealousy. Oh, the occasional annoyance when someone else got to a potential bed partner before she could make her move, but that was all. After all, she was only after a little tension relief. What real difference did it make if the source of that relief was breathing or battery operated, except for whether or not she had to do all the work herself. Now, she'd understood what others had told her about being jealous of someone. She'd felt it every time she'd seen Willow and Kennedy snuggle together, or kiss, or suddenly race upstairs. To make matters even weirder, a couple times, she'd caught herself being jealous of Willow. Admittedly, both had happened after her Slayer hearing had let her hear a scream of "KENNEDY!!!", in what had to be the most mind-blowing orgasm she'd even heard. Faith herself had had some really good ones in her time, but a small part of her wanted to see if the younger Slayer could make her scream like that too.
Then, last night had happened and she'd had her answer. Faith had had previous lovers, both male and female who'd told her afterward that they loved her tongue ring. Now, she knew why. Her new lovers had taken her to peak after peak, until, even with her Slayer strength, she'd just laid there and quivered and shook with aftershocks. She'd would never know what was better, Willow's teasing fingers or Kennedy's skillful use of her studded tongue. It had simply all melded together into the most incredible night of her life.
All these thoughts brought her right back to her current place and her promising the couple that she'd try to make things work between the three of them. She was still a bit worried about what would happen if things didn't work out, but she was beginning to trust Willow when she said things would be ok. [God, I hope she's right.] The dark Slayer thinks.
"Faith?"
"Huh?"
As the movie started, Willow was sitting on the sofa with Kennedy curled up on her right side, dark-haired head pillowed on a shoulder and an arm loosely draped over the redhead's belly. Willow's arm is around her Slayer. Turning her head slightly, the witch plants a soft kiss on the crown of her girl's head, then returns her attention to the movie for a moment. When Faith sets her mug down and curls up in the chair, she stops watching the movie and watches her newer lover try to get comfortable.
Willow wonders if she should ask Faith to move to the sofa and snuggle with her and Kennedy, but, ultimately decides not to. [She'll move over here if she wants. Until then, I can stop with the pushy girl] she thinks to herself.
The wicca returns her attention to the movie, but looks back at Faith every time the older Slayer changes position, which is every few minutes. After the third time she moves in less than ten minutes, Willow begins to watch her new girl more than the film. From the expression on her face, the redhead realizes Faith is deep in thought, and, even without tapping into her mind, she's sure she knows that Faith is thinking about. The three of them, being together. Faith moves again.
[Please don't let her talk herself out of giving us a chance.] Willow prays silently, though, to who, she's not sure.
Faith moves yet again. Willow watches her for another minute or so, then makes up her mind. [Ok, I know I wasn't going ask her to come over her, but she looks so uncomfortable over there.] She looks down at her girlfriend, plants a kiss in her hair, and thinks to her, [You still awake, honey?]
Kennedy stirs a little. [Huh?] The brunette's mind voice is a little groggy. [Yeah, kinda. S'up?]
[I was just watching Faith. What do you think?]
Kennedy turns her head a little and observes her new girlfriend for a couple minutes. Faith turns slightly and extends a leg. [She looks like she can't get comfortable. You gonna ask her to move over here?]
[I was thinking about it, but we said we'd give her time to get used to everything. Don't want to push.]
[Yeah, I get that.] The young Slayer glances back at her brunette. The other leg snaps out straight. [Still... Go ahead and ask. If she says no, then tell her at least move to the other sofa.]
Willow reaches over and tilts her girl's face up toward her and gives her a soft kiss. [Good thinking. Have I told you in the last hour or so how much I love you?]
A tender smile. [You just did.] Another soft kiss, then a third. [No more than I love you.] Out of the corner of her eye, Faith twitches again. [Ask her. I'm gettin' a cramp just watching her.]
Willow giggles softly. Turning her attention to the other brunette, she says, "Faith?"
"Huh?" Faith snaps back to reality and looks over at the couple.
"Sweetie, that chair isn't very soft, especially when you're trying to lay down in it. Why don't you move to a sofa? You could have the other one to yourself, or curl up here with us, if you wanted to." Willow tried to not to sound too hopeful over which the Slayer would choose.
Faith thinks for a moment and decides her witch is right. She rotates upright in the chair, and looks at both couches. Biting her bottom lip, she asks, "Since you mentioned both sofas, you got a preference, Red?"
"Truthfully?"
Faith just gives her a "No, lie to me!" look and smirk.
A smile. "I'd like it if you'd move over here. I like the idea of being able to hold both of you while we finish the movie. I just didn't want you to feel rush-y about things."
The older Slayer leaves the chair and moves beside Willow. Suddenly grinning mischievously, she start gently poking and prodding the redhead's thigh.
Brow furrowed, Willow looks at her. "Baby, what are you doing?"
"Well, it's not the softest pillow I've ever used." A shrug. "Not the hardest either. Guess it'll do."
Willow pouts and swats her arm. Kennedy just chuckles. "Just for that, I should make you lay over there by yourself!" Faith shrugs again and starts to stand. Willow grabs her arm and pulls her back down. "I said, I should do it, not that I would! Come on, get comfy. I don't want to miss the robbery in the woods scene. It's so something Kenn would do!" She smiles, then looks down at her new girl as she snuggles in with her head on Willow's thigh and shoulder between her thigh and calf. Willow starts to lightly stroke Faith's arm. "You'd do the same thing, wouldn't you?"
"Hm? Oh, maybe. Though I'd probably kick all their asses and get the dress back, then leave. Let the Prince walk on his own."
"Like her plan better." Kennedy says from the witches other side.
Willow just rolls her eyes and smiles as her girls laugh quietly. Soon, they settle back down to watch, just enjoying being together. Time passes.
Three women slowly approach the house, one appearing far more tired than the other two.
"What time is it?" a scratchy voice whines.
The soft blue light of a wristwatch lights Buffy's face for a few seconds. "Quarter of three, Dawn. Why? Not tired, are you?" She smiles sweetly at her sister.
"Me? Tired? Oh, no! Hey, I could patrol another two, maybe three graveyards before bed. I was just thinking of you guys." she answers sarcastically.
Buffy just looks over at her. "You wanted to come on patrol. Practically begged, in fact. Just wouldn't stay home. Remember?"
"Yeah, yeah, sure. Fine, I wanted to come. I didn't know you'd planned to stay out the whole weekend! Can we please just get in the house before I fall over?"
Buffy laughs at her sister's petulant tone. "What about you, Vi? Want to go in or try to scare up a few more vamps?"
The young Slayer looks back and forth between the Summers girls. "If it's ok with you, Buffy, I want to get some sleep. I've got some homework I want to finish before patrol tomorrow night. Not to mention, I wanted to get up in time to call my mom before she goes to bed."
The blond Slayer just shakes her head and smile big. "You kids just don't know how to have fun, that's all." She endures their protests for a few seconds. "Fine, fine! Home we go!"
Ten minutes later, the group approaches "Slayer Central" as it's been named. Buffy fishes her keys out of her jacket pocket and finds the front door key. She smiles ruefully as she does, remembering how they'd never locked the door in Sunnydale. At the time, she'd never really thought about it, it was just how it was. In Cleveland, they didn't dare leave they doors unlocked.
"Try to be quiet, ok? The others are probably asleep."
Dawn glances at Buffy. " No problem. Can we go in, now? Unless you wanna carry me?"
The blond chuckles as they walk up the porch stairs. Opening the door and entering, Buffy notices the light coming from the tv room. Turning back to the younger girls, she whispers, "Ok, you guys go on to bed. I'm gonna check down here and be right up."
Dawn just nods, too exhausted to notice anything but the staircase leading to her bed. Vi sees the light from the tv, but shrugs, figuring Buffy will take care of it. Besides, even with her Slayer stamina, she's nearly as tired as her friend and just wants sleep.
Buffy hears the two teens trudge upstairs as she turns and throws the deadbolt. She walks back through the house and checks the lock on the back door, finding it secure. Retracing her steps, she heads for the tv room.
Entering the rec room, she sees that the Ever After dvd has returned to the menu screen after ending. Buffy smiles at the thought of Willow and Kennedy falling asleep watching the movie yet again. Her best friend had confided in her the reason she loved the movie so much. To the blond, it was such a Willow reason, yet made perfect sense.
Turning toward the couple's favorite sofa, Buffy's smile freezes on her face, then slowly fades. 'What the?!?' She thinks, all other thoughts slamming to a halt. In front of her, Kennedy is still curled up on Willow's right side, though she has slid down a little more, her head pillowed more on the redhead's tummy. Her right arm is extended across Willow's leg, her fingers loosely tangled in Faith's hair, like she'd been playing with it when she fell asleep.
Faith is laying on her right side, legs loosely curled up to her body, head resting on Willow's hip. Her arms are crossed over her chest, fingers of her right hand interlaced with Willow's. Willow herself is scrunched down a bit, head thrown back and to the right, an arm around each girl. They are asleep as well.
Buffy is confused for a moment at the sight before her, but then remembers a conversation with Dawn after Faith was hurt. She recalls Dawn saying something about noticing looks between the three women in front of her. That had been when she'd found them all in Faith's bed, but Willow had told her about Faith not liking being watched over. So she and Kennedy had snuggled up at the foot of the bed, and that she hadn't known how they had all ended up cuddled together. The redhead had assured her that there were no bad feeling on any one's part for waking up like that, that everything was fine.
'Apparently, more than fine.' Turning from the trio on the sofa, Buffy crosses to the entertainment set-up, ejects the dvd and puts it away. Returning to the sitting area, she picks up the tv remote and shuts it off.
'Ok, can't stall anymore.' The blond reaches out and gently shakes Willow's brunette free shoulder. "Will? Come on, Will."
The witch slowly opens her eyes, then raises her head, smiling at her friend. "Hey."
"Hey, yourself. Just got back and thought you might want to actually stretch out for the rest of the night."
Another drowsy smile. "Yeah, good thinking. What time is it?"
"A little after three," is Buffy's whispered answer.
"That explains why I'm so stiff." She starts to stretch, but stops when she feels a comfortable weight on each side. She smiles at both her girls, memories of the evening's understanding finally returning.
Buffy softly clears her throat. "Uh, Will? Something going on you should tell your bestest friend all about? I mean, you three look awfully snuggly there. I'm kinda used to seeing you and Kenn that way, but..." She trails off, not finishing her thought, though staring at Faith tells Willow much of what her friend is thinking.
Willow starts to say something, then stops. "Considering the time, can we talk tomorrow? Promise I'll tell you what's going on, but I'm tired and you were out patrolling for how many hours?" Willow smiles at the oldest Slayer. "I happen to know for a fact that Slayers do need a little sleep every day!"
Buffy chuckles quietly. "Guess that's true. And you would know!" She gives the wicca a mock glare, then smiles. "Night, Will. We can talk tomorrow or whenever you want, just soon?"
"Tomorrow, Buff. Goodnight!" She softly calls as the blond turns and heads for the stairs. Willow shakes her head a little at Buffy's protective instinct. Not that she doesn't appreciate her best friend trying to help her, but sometimes Buffy was a little overzealous, leaving Willow feeling a little smothered. 'Besides,' she thinks. 'Now I've got two really tough Slayers to watch out for me!'
The thought makes her smile and gives her a warm feeling of being loved and wanted. Shaking her head free of her thoughts, she leans over slightly and plants a soft kiss on Kennedy's temple. "Kenn? Kennedy, sweetie? Wake up."
The young Slayer inhales sharply and sits up, looking around wildly for a second before recognizing where she is. "Sorry, Red." She leans in and kisses her girl gently. "Missed the end of the movie. Want to replay the last part? Hey, why's the tv off?"
Willow laughs softly. "Don't worry about, honey. Buffy woke me up when she came in, so why don't we just go to bed?"
"Sounds good to me, though you might want to wake up the pretty lady holding you down before we go." The dark haired girl eases her fingers from brunette locks and stands, stretching.
Willow groans slightly, Kennedy's stretch pulling her shirt up enough for the redhead to see her girlfriend's amazing abs as she moves. Turning away, she leans over her other Slayer and kisses her cheek. "Faith? Baby? You need to wake up, now."
Faith, too, wakes with a start, but doesn't jerk away, mostly because their interlaced fingers won't let her. Willow starts to release her, but the dark Slayer tightens her grip slightly as she wakes up enough to take in her surroundings. She snuggles into Willow, declaring, "Don't wanna wake up! Like it where I am!"
Kennedy just laughs. "Can't blame her, there, Red. I wouldn't wanna move either!"
Willow smiles at that. "Faith, sweetie, if it was up to me, you could stay there, but I kinda need to move. Besides, wouldn't we all be more comfortable in a big bed rather than a narrow sofa?"
"Oh, alright. If I have to!" Faith declares. Suddenly she grins at her redhead. "Besides, I really need to pee!" She bolts for the stairs.
"Faith!" Willow yells, following her. Kennedy laughs so hard, she has to sit down again.
Kennedy finally gets upstairs in time to see Faith sauntering out of the bathroom and Willow darts passed her, glaring. The two Slayers smile at each other.
Kennedy approaches her new girlfriend. "So, you gonna join us, or you wanna sleep in your room?"
Faith looks unsure. "Which do you want me to do?"
"I'm good either way, but I'd like it if you'd join us. I know Will wants you with us, too, but she'll understand if you're not ready. She and I agreed we'd take this at whatever speed you wanna set."
Faith thinks this over for a moment. She makes a decision. "I love you guys, but I think, at least for tonight," a smirk, "or what's left of it, I'm gonna go back to my room. I mean, I've woke up with you and Red three times now. First time I was sick and I couldn't really enjoy it. The second time was after the most incredible sex of my life!" She grins at Kennedy's blushing smile. "But I got scared and ran as soon as I was awake enough to panic. Tonight, though, was so great. First time I ever woke up feelin' like I was loved and wanted, y'know? I want more of that, but I wanna think about everything for a while. I can't do that with you guys there, too. Red's just a bit too distracting, you know what I mean?"
Kennedy just grins and nods. "Only time I can really do any thinking myself is on patrol. Of course, I'm usually thinking about her, so I guess that doesn't help much, huh?"
Faith laughs. "Probably not, then." She walks over and takes the younger Slayer in her arms and kisses her, slowly and sensually. Pulling back, Faith says, "That's for you." She kisses her girl again, the same slow, sexy way. "Pass that one to Red for me, will you?"
Kennedy shakes off the effect of the twin kisses with difficulty. "Yeah, sure, but she'll be out in a minute. Why not wait?"
"Cause if she gives me a pouty face, I'll never make it to my room to think, and you know it." Another, more chaste kiss of the cheek. "Night, K"
The young Slayer chuckles again. "Yeah, that's true. Night, Faith."
Both girls head for their rooms. Kennedy walks into the one she shares with Willow and starts undressing. Stripping down to her boxers, she pulls on the tank top she usually wears to bed and heads back out to the bathroom. Willow comes out as she gets there. The lovers smile at each other as they pass, hands automatically touching as long as they can. Kennedy heads into the bathroom to end her evening and brush her teeth.
A few minutes later, she returns to her room. "Where's Faith?" Willow asks as she enters.
Kennedy closes the door, turns out the lights and slides into bed, taking her girl in her arms, before answering. "She said she wanted to think and said you were far too distracting for her to think here. She also said she likes waking up with us, so she'll be back when she's ready, don't worry. Oh, she wanted me to pass on one other thing."
Willow was thinking about the message that Faith would eventually be joining them. She was still a little worried the Slayer would talk herself out of giving the three of them a try, but nowhere near as worried as she was before the movie. The witch would be so glad when Faith was snuggled with them. She missed her. "I miss her. I wanted her here with us"
Kennedy just smiled at her witch. "I do too, but we agreed to let her set the pace. She'll be here soon. By the way, Faith had one other message."
"Huh? What is it?"
"This." Kennedy kisses her girl in the same slow, sensual way that Faith kissed her. "Well, that and 'good night'. This is from me." The Slayer kisses Willow again, lips working for a moment before breaking away to softly kiss her way down the redhead's jawline to her ear. Kennedy gently nibbles on the earlobe for a moment, delighting in Willow's sharply indrawn breath as her lover's libido begins firing up.
Suddenly, Willow yawns hugely, even dislodging Kennedy from her nibbling. Willow looks at her lover, a blush beginning. "S-sorry, baby."
"S'ok. That started as a good night kiss. Got carried away." She stifles a yawn of her own. "What say we pick up here in the morning, without the yawns?"
Willow smiles and repeatedly kisses her love, saying between them, "Like it - when you - get carried away. I guess I can wait til morning. If I have to." She finished, mock petulant.
Kennedy grins. "I'll make it up to you, promise." They share one last, soft kiss, then Kennedy rolls over and Willow spoons protectively around her. "G'night Will."
"Night sweetie."
Both girls are just drifting off when Kennedy hears the door close and latch again and wakes again. Looking up and around Willow, she sees Faith standing near the door in a tanktop and panties, holding a pillow. "What's up? Thought you wanted to think things over?"
Faith moves closer to the bed. "Did think things over. Then I started missing you guys. Invite still open?"
The younger girl smiles sleepily. "Always. Slide in behind Will."
Faith lays her pillow beside Willows and, lifting the covers slightly, slides quickly in behind the redhead.
Feeling the fast burst of cooler air, Willow wakes again and looks behind her. "Faith? Where'd you come from? Kenn said..."
The older Slayer puts a finger on her witch's lips. "Is it ok I'm here?"
"Yes, of course! I was hoping you'd be here when I walked in earlier."
Faith smiles at her and kisses her shoulder. "I missed you guys, so here I am. We can talk more tomorrow, Red, it's late." Faith spoons around Willow, one arm draped across both women. Kennedy lifts her arm and lays on top of Faith's. "G'night Red, K." Faith whispers, kissing the back of Willow neck as she settles in.
"G'night, baby."
"Night sweetie."
The end for now, though this story continues in Adjustments.
