The Band of Slayers
After Gail and Brian Evans- actually Gail and Brian Martin left, Willow closed the door and her eyes met Kennedy's, "Vampires?" was her one word question.
"Vampires-" states the young Slayer, "That would be my guess too."
Willow smiles, "It's ironic."
"How?" asks her Slayer as she hugs her close.
"Nothing is ever normal-we don't even get normal bad guys, they have to be all hellmouthy!"
"It does seem to find us doesn't it?"
"Seems that way-" the redhead pauses, "Kennedy-I told Gail."
"Told Gail what?"
"About the magic-" the young Slayer looks unsure, "She saw Alex's magic mobile and I-I didn't want to lie."
"I get that. How did she take it?"
"She was a little freaked-but better than I expected."
"Do you think she'll tell Brian?"
"Eventually."
"We should call Faith and have her check things out." She takes Willow's hand and leads her across to the phone.
"Can you talk to her?- I want to check on the girls see how they're dealing now that they don't have their friends here to keep them busy."
She presses her lips to Willow's then pulls back slowly, "That's probably a good idea, I won't be long and we'll have a family picnic on the balcony for dinner."
Willow kisses her, "Like that plan." She walks out of the room.
Later in Cleveland, Faith is standing outside a large estate. She whistles- "And they say crime don't pay." She shakes her head and walks to the gate.
A man stops her- "Private property," he grunts.
"I wanted to talk to Mr. Gioni-"
"You got an appointment?"
"I need an appointment?"
"Only way in," he says. "Give me your name and number-his secretary will call you."
"Serious?" He nods- "That's cool." The name's Buffy-" she smiles.
After giving the man a fake name and number, she circles around to the opposite side of the property. She starts to climb the fence- half way up she sees three dogs running her way and barking, "Damn-" she stops, "Nice doggies." She jumps from the fence and runs toward her car.
Later Faith is talking on the phone, "The place is like a freakin' fortress. They got guard dogs."
"So you couldn't get in?"
"I could've got in-I didn't want to rattle any cages so to speak, so I backed off. I thought a sneak attack later would be best."
"You actually planned-impressive," teases Willow from the other extension.
"You'll pay for that Red," smiles the once dark Slayer.
"Hey-watch it," says Kennedy a note of protectiveness in her voice.
"Relax Junior-just teasing."
"Right-okay."
"I did some checking at a couple of vamp bars. They say he's all the shit-definite bad ass."
"The flight leaves here in the morning-we'll call from the airport," says the young Slayer.
"Are you bringing the pint-size Slayers?"
"No-they have school, Xander is going to watch them," says Willow.
"You'd leave them with him?"
"They love him," says the redhead.
"They'll have a great time," reassures Kennedy. "We are bringing the little guy though- a growing boy has to eat."
"True-look I gotta jet, I'm meeting Robin."
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do-" teases Kennedy, you can hear the smile in her voice.
"Gives me a lot of options-see you." Before Kennedy can reply the phone is on the hook.
The door opens and Robin walks in, "Ready?" he asks as he smiles then hugs her.
"Always ready," she smiles back. "Question is are you?" She raises her eyebrows suggestively as she kisses his lips.
The next morning Willow is standing in the living room with Buffy and Xander. She seems nervous, "All of the emergency numbers are in the book by the phone-an-and remember they have to be at school by 8:30-"
"I know Will- we'll be fine," smiles her old friend.
"An-and when you pack their lunches-" the redhead is quickly approaching babble mode.
Xander interrupts her, "Put in a little note with a smiley face-I got it."
"Okay-okay," she takes a deep breath and begins to relax as she let's it out slowly.
Kennedy comes in the room with Alex in her arms, and the girls following behind her with the suitcase. They take it to the door and set it down. The young Slayer can tell that the witch is upset. She turns and hands Alex to Buffy, "Would you mind putting him in the car seat?"
"Not at all," she carries him toward the coffee table and the seat.
Willow looks near tears as Kennedy takes her hand and whispers in her ear, "You can stay-"
She shakes her head, "I'll be fine," she says softly as she kisses her Slayer's cheek, "But thanks for understanding."
Kennedy looks toward her girls as Xander walks across the room to help Buffy. "Come'ere girls," they run over to Kennedy and she kneels in front of them. She hugs them, "Mind your Uncle Xander."
'We will Mama," says Aly.
"Give me a kiss," she smiles. The girls kiss her at the same time on opposite cheeks. Kennedy hugs them tighter.
"Mama-" says Annie, "Can't breath." Kennedy smiles and let's them go.
Willow kneels in front of them too, "I love you both-" she tells them as she hugs each child.
"I love you," they say in unison. The redhead kisses them both as she fights the tears that threaten to fall. She finally let's them go then wipes her eyes.
Kennedy looks at Willow then at the youngest Slayers, "Keep an eye on Jake and Katie," says their mama.
"But don't use magic unless you have too," adds their mommy.
"Okay Mommy," assures Annie.
The adults stand, "We'll be back in a few days," she says as she leans over and kisses the girls again. Kennedy picks up the suitcase and Willow grabs the diaper bag. Buffy has Alex in the carrier as she looks toward Willow. "Let me take him-" she picks up the child- "We'll meet you in the car," and without waiting for an answer she goes out the door.
Kennedy looks at the twins and sets down the suitcase, "Now remember to call Mommy before you go to bed."
"We will Mama," they say in unison.
"That's my girls, big hugs-" they hug her again. Kennedy looks toward Buffy and Xander and then realizes they probably need a few minutes alone. She smiles- "You guys go play now and I'll see you soon." They nod and run toward the play room. Kennedy walks out with the suitcase.
Xander wraps his Slayer in his arms hugging her close, "Be careful."
"Always," says Buffy. She kisses him softly.
As they break the kiss he touches for stomach with his hand, she leans her forehead against his "See you in a few days." He presses his lips to her forehead.
"I'll miss you Xander."
"Same here," he says as he moves his lips from her head. "I love you."
"I love you," her lips meet his in a tender kiss, then she pulls back. "I've gotta go-" she says her voice soft and sad.
"In a minute," he kisses her again.
Much later at a crowded Cleveland airport the witch and the Slayers look for Faith.
"Yo Red!" yells the former dark Slayer as she spots Willow.
Willow turns toward the voice and smiles, then waves at Faith. Faith jogs toward her and hugs her. She looks down at the baby in her arms, "Man he's grown-"
"Wanna hold him," asks Kennedy as she joins them.
"Nah- better not, he might break or something."
"What's a matter Slayer- scared?" asks Buffy who now stands beside the young Slayer.
"B?" Surprised, "Didn't know you were traveling- and hell no, I'm not afraid it's just-well-"
"Right-" smirks the redhead as she hands Alex to the blonde Slayer. "Kennedy and I will get the luggage and meet you out front." They leave.
Faith looks at the smiling boy in Buffy's arms, "Look at you B-he likes you." The younger Slayer looks a little confused.
"We've sort of bonded, isn't that right magic man?" The baby coos up at her. Buffy's eyes meet Faith's. "Here," she puts the baby in the brunette's arms before she can protest.
"B- I-" she stops and looks down at the baby. "He looks kinda like Red."
"A little and see," says the oldest Slayer, "He didn't break."
"No, he didn't," she can't stop the smile from spreading across her face.
"Let's go meet Will and Kennedy."
"Wait-" Faith tries to give the baby back to her but she walks away. "Damn!" A nervous Faith walk carefully toward the front of the airport shooting evil looks at a man who bumps into her, "Hey watch it-can't you see the kid?"
At Faith's house Robin is gathering weapons and passing them out. Buffy shakes her head and shows him Mr. Pointy. He gives Faith and Kennedy crossbows and Rona and Vi axes. He keeps an axe for himself. When he stops in front of Willow she waves off the axe and takes two stakes then slides them up her sleeves. She then fastens Alex into a harness with Kennedy's help, he is snuggled tightly to her chest. The young Slayer smiles and whispers to her witch, "I'd like to trade him places." The redhead blushes but smiles. Kennedy looks at Faith, "All set-"
"Then let's roll-" she says. The Slayers, the witch and Robin walk out ready for war.
At the Gioni Estate, Faith walks to the gate, "Where you think you're going?" He puts his hand on her shoulder.
"I need to see Mr. Gioni-" she says as she gets him in a wrist lock. The man morphs into his vampire self and quickly meets the pointed end of her stake. As the dust clears, Faith waves for Willow to follow her. She opens the gate and they go inside, "Be careful Red-stay behind me."
She smiles happy to see Faith protective of Alex, "He'll be okay."
"Just wanna make sure, you know?"
"Yeah-let's get this guy."
"Won't know what hit him." She smiles as the start toward the house.
Kennedy and Rona climb the fence on the west side, as they land the dogs run toward them, "Thicken," says Kennedy as she holds her hand forward and the dogs freeze unable to attack.
"Kickin'- how'd you do that?"
"Willow taught me-let's go." The two use to be potentials start toward the house.
Robin and Vi climb the fence on the east side taking out two vampires stationed there without a problem. They run toward the house.
Alone on the south side Buffy clears the fence and is surprised that she has an unimpeded path to the house. "This is too easy," says the blonde Slayer.
The Slayers, the witch and Robin enter the house and begin a systematic search for Gioni- Kennedy and Rona find him. The young Slayer concentrates and starts to talk to Willow, 'Will can you hear me?'
'Yeah baby-'
'He's in what looks like a conference room on the first floor near the front door.'
'Buffy did you hear that,' asks the redhead.
'Got it, I'm on my way.'
'Vi-'
'Willow please get out of my head,' says the young British Slayer.
Once gathered, they storm the room surprising Gioni and his guests, four men-well maybe men decided Buffy. Gioni looks at them indignantly, "Uninvited guests." He starts to move but stops as two crossbows are leveled on him.
"We don't need an invite," says Faith, she and Buffy still in a battle to see who has the best pun.
"We can pretty much come and go as we please," says Buffy with a smile.
The doorway, then the room fills the vamps in game face. "You see the going could be harder than you think," smirks Gioni.
The remaining Slayers and Robin pull out their axes, while Willow stares at Gioni. An arrow flies and hits one of the vampires as he turns to dust the battle begins. Stakes, axes and arrows fly as the group begins to dispose of the enemies. Gioni and the men he had been talking to start to go out the back door but Willow casts a spell holding Gioni in the room-the others flee. He turns to her and morphs into his game face, "A witch-"
"And a vampire-stick around we're gonna chat." She hits him with a beam and he is unable to move.
As the last of the vampires are dusted they all turn their attention back to Gioni, "Let him go Will-" says Buffy as she tucks Mr. Pointy into her sleeve. The witch releases him, "Let's have a talk." Mr. Gioni's face reverts back and he walks to the couch and sits down. Buffy points to the protector of the city, "This is Faith."
"The Slayer-I've heard of her."
"That good-cause you see, we got a problem you and me," the brunette Slayer moves closer to him.
"I don't want problems," says Gioni.
"That's good," says Faith. "Kennedy you wanna tell him how we're gonna fix the problem?"
Kennedy steps forward, her crossbow hanging from her side, "Brian Martin-"
Gioni looks surprised, then smiles- "Know the name."
"He's a friend of mine," says the young Slayer.
"And his kids-friends of our kids," adds Willow as she steps forward to take Kennedy's hand.
"There have been some problems," says Kennedy.
"He has enemies."
"And now so do you," smiles the blonde Slayer. "Not just any enemies either-Slayers."
"Slayers-there's more than one?"
Faith smirks, "Don't you listen to the talk while you hang out at the bars?"
"Lots of Slayers now-thanks to Willow." She smiles at her friend. "How many at last count?" asks Buffy.
"Two thousand four hundred and twenty seven in the Academy.- Maybe that many that we haven't brought in."
"And witches?" asks the oldest.
"A little over five hundred in training," she smiles, pride evident. Gioni is suddenly nervous.
Kennedy speaks again, "If I see anyone near the kids or their parents, we'll be back." He looks around at the group in front of him. "And it won't be just the seven of us-" states the young Slayer.
"Understood?" asks Buffy.
"I'll take care of it."
"You do that or I'll take care of you," says Faith.
They back out of the room together and go towards the door. A group of about ten vampires block the exit, Robin speaks, "We got company."
"Back to back," says Faith and they move. The vamps attack and they fight back. Most are dusted quickly but Kennedy is battling a tough one. Buffy joins in and they tag team him-soon they are brushing off his ashy remains. Willow is holding off one and Faith tackles him snapping his neck. "Don't be messing with Red." She states as the vampire turns to nothing. Willow smiles and helps the Slayer to her feet but she is a little dizzy. She grabs onto the redhead to balance herself.
"Faith?" Willow looks unsure-then worried.
"Dizzy- freakin' room is spinning."
Robin walks over to them, "Faith-"
"Just dizzy-" she restates.
"She might have hit her head-" volunteers Willow.
"No-it's okay-I need some air." They each put an arm around her and lead her outside. The others follow watching for more vampires.
Sister Slayers
At the house, everyone is winding down for the night after the fight. Faith and Robin disappeared up the stairs an hour ago. Buffy is sitting on the bay window bench staring out at the star filled night with her hand on her stomach. Without realizing it she is slowing running her fingers over the growing baby. Willow is sitting in an oversized chair with a noticeably ansty Kennedy sitting on the arm beside her. The redhead is talking to her daughters with a smile on her face. She reaches for Kennedy's drumming fingers and takes her hand in hers. She knows the problem and how to fix it. Her eyes meet her Slayer's and she sees the need there.
A little later, Kennedy now has the phone, "I love you both." She smiles as the I love yous are returned. "Tell Katie and Jake not to worry, everything is okay."
She gives the phone back to the redhead, "So you had dinner that wasn't ice cream?" she asks. This causes even a distracted Kennedy to smile. "Good-okay, we love you both and we'll see you soon. Kisses baby girls." Willow makes a smooching noise into the phone and then hangs up.
Kennedy's eyes meet Will's, then look toward the stairs-she looks back at her witch and bites her bottom lip as she waits for an answer. She is surprised as lips meet hers in a soft kiss, "Ready to head upstairs?" asks the young Slayer as they break the kiss.
Willow nods then looks at Buffy, "Buffy-you okay?"
She nods and smiles, "I was just thinking."
"What about?"
"How much my life is going to change," says the Slayer.
Willow is surprised as Kennedy answers, "It's good change-"
"Yeah-"
"If you're okay we're going to head upstairs," says Kennedy as she stands. She offers her hand to Willow who takes it and stands beside her. Their eyes meet and the need in both is so obvious. Kennedy tries to control the sudden urge to kiss her redhead again.
Willow adds, "Been a long day."
Buffy smiles, "Right-sure," says the oldest Slayer knowingly. "Taking care of the second H-"
"Buffy!-" Her long time friend blushes as she tries to hide her face behind Kennedy's back. "You're as bad as Faith."
"But I'm right-" she says victoriously as Willow shakes her head. The young Slayer pulls Willow toward the stairs as she too smiles. Buffy turns back to the window.
As the couple pass Faith's room they hear her moan Robin's name and they smile. "Come'ere" says Kennedy as she pulls Willow tightly against her and kisses her. The kiss is a needy one full of want, she plunges her tongue into her redhead's mouth and the kiss is quickly out of control.
Finally Willow pulls back, "Room-" she pants out and then leans in to kiss Kennedy again. Still kissing they move toward their room.
In Faith's room the brunette Slayer is laying on Robin, her head rests on his chest. Her eyes are closed as she tries to slow her breathing. He continues to gently stroke her back and sides as he kisses the top of her head.
"Better?" he asks also trying to catch his breath.
"You always make it better baby-" she says as she leans her chin on his chest and looks into his eyes as she smiles.
He smiles too, "That's good but not what I meant," his hand slides lower down her body and she closes her eyes at the sensations he is causing again. "Meant are you still dizzy?"
Avoiding his question the Slayer leans forward and kisses his lips. She runs her tongue along them trying to press her way inside. He allows her entrance and they duel first in his mouth and then hers. He finally pulls away- she opens her eyes and sees worry in his, "Don't wanna talk anymore, wanna go again-" she smiles knowing how to stop his worry. "That is if you're up to it," she adds with a smile.
"Oh, I'm up to it," he says as he turns her onto her back and moves over her. He begins to kiss down her body. He kisses her forehead, her lips, then her neck-he licks playfully behind her ear knowing it drives her crazy. He is not disappointed as she moans loudly. He continues down her neck leaving a slow wet trail in his wake. He kisses between her breasts and again she moans. She puts her hand on his head and gently pushes him to the right and he smiles. He flicks out his tongue and touches it to her hard peak, then suckles.
"Damn!" she says as she moans again as his hand slips between them to her wet curls. "Robin-"
"What Faith," he asks playfully as he looks into her eyes as she opens them. His fingers continue to move stroking her gently.
"Too-" she stops trying hard to focus and form words as he caresses her body. She starts again, "Too sl-slow need you ins-inside now."
He smiles as his fingers slide home and find a steady rhythm. "That what you want baby?" he asks, already knowing it isn't but wanting to prolong the play.
She bites her lip as her hips meet his movements. She moans as he moves faster and drives her closer, "No-" she finally answers.
"No?" he smiles as he feels her tense then start to spasm. He removes his fingers.
"No-" she moans- "Fuck!" she screams as he thrusts his length into her and moves slowly causing her to explode around him. He doesn't stop as he begins to move faster, riding out the waves that cause her to shudder and building her up again toward another release.
In the room just down the hall Willow and Kennedy are taking care of another case of after slay horniness. The redhead is kissing her Slayer. Her hands caress bare skin and then as she breaks the kiss her lips follow the same path down her lover's body. Kennedy is on her back, her eyes tightly closed as she gets lost in Willow's touch. She moans softly and her girl looks up and smiles. "Like that baby?"
"Ummmm-" says Kennedy as she is unable to form words. Willow continues to kiss down the young Slayer's body. She presses her lips to the bare skin just above Kennedy's belly button and the girl arches trying to force more contact. She kisses her stomach again and then dips her tongue into her belly button. "Pl-please- Will-" with those words the redhead stops teasing. As she explores Kennedy's soft folds the young Slayer starts to shudder- "Goddess!" she screams as she is caught off guard when Willow moves her lips to her center.
Downstairs Buffy is still sitting at the window. Faith walks over to her, "You okay B? You've been sitting in that same spot for hours."
"I'm good-" She pulls her knees to her chest so that there is room for the other Slayer to sit. Faith sits beside her. "How about you? Are you still feeling dizzy?"
"Nah-" says Faith.
"Not too convincing," says the blonde Slayer.
"Never could fool you B-right now I'm 5x5, but ten minutes from now, who can say."
Buffy is a little concerned, "How long has this be going on?"
"A few weeks-maybe a little longer."
"And you haven't been to a doctor?"
"It's no big-and you can't say anything to Robin-"
"Faith he-"
"He worries enough," Buffy smiles, "Don't-"
"What?-It's sweet, you know he loves you right?"
Faith fights to keep a smile from covering her face but loses, "Okay-yeah- I guess, but this-this is just a bug. No reason to worry him." Buffy doesn't say anything, her mind seems to be running an idea through it and a slow smile covers her face. "B- what's that look?"
"Faith have you been nauseous?"
"Throwing up like crazy."
"Throwing up, light headed-sound like anything you know?"
"Yeah-the flu," answers the once dark Slayer a little unhappy.
"The flu doesn't last for weeks Faith."
"So you're saying what?" Then it hits her what Buffy is suggesting. Scared and angry she stands up- "Hell no!-No way."
"So you're telling me you and Robin haven't-after all these years?" she asks playfully.
"Well yeah-but we're always-" she stops and starts again after thinking of how to word her response. "We've never-I mean he always and I'm on the-" she just can't seem to finish a sentence. "No-okay-I am not pregnant!" Faith says adamantly.
"There's an easy way to find out for sure. We could go to the drug store now, and you could take the test first thing in the morning."
"No!"
Buffy stands beside her, "Look being a little sc-" Faith gives her an angry look and Buffy chooses a new word. "Being freaked out is normal."
"So you're an expert?"
"Kind of yeah-" says the blonde Slayer.
"What?-You're saying what?- That you're-are you having a kid?" Unsure Faith's eyes meet Buffy's.
"I'm having a baby," confirms the blonde with a smile.
"No shit?"
"None-I found out yesterday."
Faith sits back down, "Damn-I mean wow-you tell Xander?"
Buffy smiles at his name, "Yeah-he's pretty excited about it."
"What about you?" asks the younger Slayer.
"Me?-I'm excited and nervous-maybe a little scared. But mostly I'm happy."
Faith thinks about the older Slayer's words then stands and walks toward the door. She turns back and looks at the blonde, "You coming or what?"
She smiles and walks toward her, when she reaches her she locks arms with Faith and they leave.
Faith is in bed staring at the clock-it finally turns to six. She looks toward a sleeping Robin and kisses him softly before getting silently out of bed. She picks up the bag and goes into the bathroom. Once inside she sits on the edge of the tub and begins to read the directions on the back of the box. She runs her fingers through her hair, "Sounds easy enough." She opens the box.
Later everyone but Faith is at the breakfast table. The table is piled with food-pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. There is juice and milk to drink. Willow stops eating and looks at Robin, "Faith still not feeling well?"
Kennedy mumbles with a smirk, "Sounded like she was feeling just fine last night." Willow kicks her under the table. "Oww-uch."
"She was in the bathroom-said she'd be down in a minute."
Buffy looks toward the hallway, she puts down her fork and stands. Without explanation she leaves the table.
Willow looks at her Slayer unsure then smiles when she hears Robin's soft words, "All Slayers are crazy-I'm sure of it now."
Upstairs Buffy knocks on Faith's bedroom door but doesn't get an answer. She slowly opens it and looks inside, no Faith. She walks on in and toward the master bedrooms small bathroom. She knocks again but no answer. "Faith?" She opens it to find the young Slayer sitting against the tub with the wand still in her hand she is simply staring at it. Buffy walks in and sits in front of her, "Faith-" Faith raises her head and her eyes meet Buffy's. The tear filled eyes overflow and fall in streaks down her face. "Let me see-" she takes the wand from her hand and smiles at the results.
But the smile fades at Faith's soft words, "I can't do this-I can't have a kid! I live on a freakin' hellmouth!"
"So do all the other mothers here."
"You don't get it-I'm the Slayer-it's my job to-"
"A Slayer-Faith, Vi and Rona-they can handle things and if they can't and you need more help we can call others."
"Got it all figured out don't you?" says the once dark Slayer trying not to sound angry.
"No-but I know we can do this. You-me, we can have a family. A normal life-look at Kennedy and Will-they're happy. We deserve happy Faith."
"Maybe you do," she concedes, "But me-after the things I did-" she shakes her head.
"You paid for those mistakes, you freakin' saved the world-so get over the self pity and give yourself a break." Buffy stands and holds her hand down to Faith. She takes it and let's Buffy help her to her feet. The oldest Slayer leads her to the mirror then moves behind her with her hands on Faith's shoulders-she speaks, "What do you see?" Faith stares at her reflection without giving an answer. Buffy speaks again, "I know it's a lot and something you weren't expecting but it's a good thing."
"You really think so?"
"I really do. I'm going downstairs you take some time-think about her, what she'll look like how much fun it'll be to take her to the park and the zoo-"
"Taking Red's and Junior's kids to the zoo was a blast," she says before she realizes it and Buffy smiles.
"Want me to send Robin up so you can talk?"
"No-tell him to meet me on the back porch in ten-" she turns to face Buffy, "and thanks."
"Hey, it's my job-taking care of all my little sisters."
"Who you calling little? I can still kick your ass," says Faith in mock seriousness.
"Right-we'll see about that after-" she smiles, her hand instinctively going to her stomach.
"After we have our babies-" adds Faith.
"Sounds good doesn't it?" Faith doesn't answer. Buffy pokes her shoulder playfully and smiles, "Come on it won't kill you to admit it."
"Okay-yeah-it doesn't sound bad," she smiles a genuine smile. The oldest Slayer nods and leaves quietly.
Faith looks down at her hand as it rests on her stomach- "Okay kid-you'll have to cut me some slack-I'm new at this."
A little later Robin is sitting on the back porch swing. The door opens and Faith walks out. She silently sits beside him and he quietly takes her hand in his. She leans against shoulder and takes a deep breath, as she lets it out slowly she looks into his eyes. She bites her lip nervously but relaxes as she sees the love and concern there. "Are we okay?"
"Yeah-I mean I gotta tell you some stuff but I hope we're still cool after-"
"I knew something was wrong- Faith you can tell me anything."
"I'm hoping-Robin what we have-almost five years, I've never been in a relationship with anyone this long-never thought it was possible for me-"
"You want space?" He seems upset.
"You need space?" She responds.
"Me?- Hell no-you know what I want. I've asked more than once-"
"Not for awhile-" she meets his eyes.
"A guy can only hear no to his marriage proposals so many times," he smiles and kisses her lips softly, "I love you-"
"I know-I love you-don't say it enough but I do."
"The words are nice-but not always necessary." She nods her understanding. "Why the private meeting?"
"Promise not to freak?"
"Promise you're not bailing on us-"
"I'm not-"
"Then I won't freak-"
"Okay-" she stands and begins to pace in front of him more nervous then before. He finally stands and puts his hands on her shoulders stopping her movement. She steps forward and he encircles her tightly in his arms. "Feels good." He kisses the top of her head. She looks up into his eyes, "I'm having a kid-"
Robin looks unsure, "Excuse me?" Faith gives him a minute and the words seem to soak in as he begins to smile, "Did you say-" he stops and leans down, his lips meet hers in a soft kiss. "You say kid?" He asks as he pulls back. She nods tentatively. "We're having a baby?"
Again she nods, "Are we okay?-I mean, I know we haven't talked about-" he kisses her again. When she breaks the kiss needing air she asks softly, "That mean we're good?"
"Definitely good," he smiles. He picks her up and spins her around excited over the news.
"No spinning-" she turns pale.
"Oh-god-" he sets her down, "Sorry baby-sorry."
"No-I'm getting use to everything spinning.- I think I'm gonna be sick-" she starts for the door and he follows.
Beginnings
At the house later a pampering Robin props Faith's feet on the coffee table and hands her a glass of milk. She raises an eyebrow at him unsure, "How long have we been goin' out?"
"Almost five years-" answers the man.
"And how long have you lived with me?"
"A little over two-"
"In all that time have you ever seen me drink milk?" He seems to be thinking about the question- "The answer is no-I don't drink milk."
"You do now," he says sternly, then kisses her on the forehead. As he pulls back he smiles. She sets the glass down. "Faith-"
"I don't-" she takes a deep breath and blows it out, then rolls her eyes- "If I drink it will you back off?"
"Maybe-" she picks up the glass and takes a small drink. She makes a face- "See it wasn't so bad."
He sits on the coffee table in front of her. "You're not leavin' till I drink all of it are you?"
He smiles, "Smart and beautiful, how did I get so lucky?"
"You think sweet talk will get you what you want?" She smiles seductively.
"Usually-" he leans closer expecting a kiss but getting a playful slap to the shoulder instead. "Hey!"- she kisses him. When she breaks the kiss he speaks, "I'll make you a deal, three glasses of milk a day and I'll-"
"No way," says the Slayer.
"Let me finish-three glasses a day and I'll buy you a new crossbow."
"The one we saw at Franklin's with the triple arrow release?"
"The very one-" he smiles.
"You got a deal." She drinks down the rest of the glass.
A little later the front door opens and Willow walks in with Alex. Seeing Faith and Robin she smiles, "Good you're home."
"What's up?" asks Faith her Slayer senses getting tingly.
"I need a favor-"
"Anything for you Red," smiles Faith.
"Could you watch Alex for a couple of hours?"
"Anything but that-" she says nervously.
"Kennedy fed him and I just changed his diaper, I just need..."
"We'll do it," says Robin but Faith looks at him like he's grown horns or two heads.
"Robin-" she looks at him unsure.
"Great-thanks," says Willow before she can change his mind. "He has diapers upstairs and a bottle in the refrigerator just in case.-And again thanks." She puts the baby in Faith's arms and leaves.
Faith looks up at Robin, "Are you crazy?"
"I thought it wouldn't hurt to practice," he answers.
"I guess-" she concedes and looks at the baby. "Hey kid-mind if we use you as a guinnea pig?"
Outside the house Willow walks up to Kennedy and Buffy. "Now would you like to explain why we're leaving our son with them?" asks Kennedy.
"Just trust me," says the oldest Slayer. "It's important."
"Okay," says the young Slayer.
Willow's eyes meet Buffy's she is thinking back over the time they have been in Cleveland. Faith's dizziness, her early morning bathroom visit and the redhead smiles, "She's pregnant- isn't she?"
"Can't say-"
"So just think it-" smiles Kennedy.
Buffy smiles, thoughts fill her head as Kennedy and Willow listen in, 'She was a little freaked I thought some alone time with Alex might help.'
'How pregnant?' asks Willow.
'Hasn't been to the doctor yet.'
'She did a home test this morning?-That's why she missed breakfast,' adds Kennedy.
'Yeah-'
'She okay?-' asks Willow.
'She will be-'
"Wow-" says the redhead. "Everyone's having babies." She takes the hand of her Slayer and then snuggles into her.
Kennedy hugs her and whispers, "What are you thinking-Red?"
Willow just shakes her head and kisses her softly, "It's just-nothing," she says as she lays her head on Kennedy's shoulder.
Inside the house later Faith is still holding Alex in her arms. Without realizing it she has started to hum to him. She looks across at Robin, "You think we can take care of one of these?"
He touches Alex's hand and then Faith's, "We'll figure it out-I mean he looks okay."
"Want to hold him?" asks Faith. Robin nods and she carefully puts him in the man's arms. Robin turns him and puts him on his shoulder, "Look at you," smiles Faith.
Robin smiles, "I grew up around kids after Mom-" he stops not wanting sad thoughts to enter the happiness of the day.
Faith moves beside him on the table. She presses a soft kiss to his lips, "It's still hard-you still miss her?"
He nods, "But it's better, thanks to you."
"Me?" asks the dark Slayer unsure.
"You-us, our life-makes me happy, gives me other things to think about."
"I get that-" she kisses him softly.
"Good." He turns the baby so that he is facing his love and the baby smiles then coos at her.
The smile that crosses her face is blinding- "Did you see that?-He smiled at me."
Robin smiles, "I think he likes you."
"Yeah-you think our kid will like us?" asks the mother-to-be.
"Not always-but that's okay. She'll know we love her."
"She?" Faith smiles- "I thought all guys wanted a little boy?"
"I told you from the beginning not all guys are the same."
"I know-I think I might be starting to believe you."
"Finally-" they sit in silence playing with the baby. "Faith-if it is a girl I want- can we name her Nikki-?"
"After your mom?" He nods- "Yeah I think I like the idea, but what if it's a boy?"
"Robin of course-"
"You're such a guy-" she smiles playfully and then kisses him.
Later Faith is walking around the room humming to Alex again. The baby is starting to drift off-Robin stands in the doorway and watches with a smile on his face. He walks up to Faith and she smiles- "See wasn't so hard," he says quietly.
"I think I could get the hang of it-" his eyes close and he sleeps. Suddenly the mobile animals appear one by one above his head and they start to spin. Faith looks at Robin shocked and unsure. "Not an expert but I'm guessin' that is not normal.-What the fu-"
Robin cuts her off, "Faith language-the baby."
"Right sorry-what is that?"
"A mobile- and I'm thinking-magic," says the man.
"Magic-" repeats Faith as Willow and Kennedy walk into the room.
"Magic-" says Willow. "We're not sure how exactly," she continues.
"Wow-that kicks a-I mean-it's cool," she smiles proud that she caught herself this time. Robin smiles too as he puts an arm around her waist.
Later that day Willow and Kennedy have packed for the trip home. Kennedy is lying on the bed nursing Alex while her redhead is resting beside her. "Can you believe she actually got him to sleep?" asks the young Slayer.
"Yeah-she acts tough but inside-well let's just say she's a lot like you."
"And that's good right?" questions Kennedy as she chews on her bottom lip.
"Definitely-here, let me do that." She leans forward and kisses her then pulls her bottom lip into her mouth suckling gently then biting it playfully. Her Slayer moans-Willow let's go and smiles. She kisses her again softly as her hand caresses the woman's side. Willow breaks the kiss as she moans again.
"Wow-" whispers Kennedy and Willow blushes but smiles.
She slides off the bed and looks at Kennedy, "I'll meet you down stairs I want to talk to Faith."
"Wait you can't and then just-"
"The flight leaves in a couple of hours we need to leave and if I stay-that won't happen. I'll make it up I promise."
"Come on Will-just we can be quick."
"Sorry baby," she leaves with a wave. Kennedy whines and closes her eyes in frustration.
Downstairs in the kitchen Faith is pouring a glass of milk when Willow walks in and sits at the table. Faith sits next to her, "Hey Red-"
"Hey-" she points to the milk, "Didn't think you liked milk."
"I don't but Robin said it was good for the kid so-" she stops realizing she has let the news slip. She smiles then takes a drink.
"He's right-" Willow smiles, "You should make a doctor's appointment too-"
"We did this morning-I go on Friday." She is quiet then confesses, "I really hate doctor's-" again she too late realizes her slip up. She looks at Willow nervously.
"I didn't hear a thing. I just wanted you to know that I'm happy for you and Robin-if you need anything you call us."
"Thanks Red-it means a lot," says Faith as Willow leans forward and hugs her. Robin walks in and Faith smiles at him.
Willow sits back down, "Congratulations-"
"Thank you," he smiles.
"She gets too hard to handle-I have experience dealing with a pregnant Slayer."
Robin nods but smiles, "I can handle her."
She takes another drink of milk, "In your dreams-" again she drinks. Willow and Robin both laugh and she looks confused but smiles as her lover points to the now empty glass in her hand.
Willow whispers to him, "Someone's whipped."
"Watch it Red-Slayer hearing," says Faith with a playful angry look.
"Damn-that always gets me in trouble," the redhead smiles.
Buffy walks in the room from outside and sits down with them. "I packed the car."
"I forgot the suitcase upstairs," she stands.
"I got it Will-" says the blonde Slayer.
"Thanks-was Alex finished with his lunch?" asks Willow.
"She was burping him when I left so she should be down."
As she speaks the young Slayer walks in with the baby in his carrier. She stands beside her redhead and the witch takes her hand. "Need any help?"
Kennedy nods, "Actually yeah-there is something." She puts the carrier on the table in front of Buffy and Faith. "Upstairs." Willow looks toward the stairs and back at Kennedy. Everyone at the table smiles as the young Slayer leads her out of the room. Soon however, their attention goes back to Alex as they play with him.
As they enter the room Kennedy presses Willow against the closed door and kisses her passionately. Needing air the redhead finally pulls away and smiles. She turns her Slayer and pins her to the door, her knee sliding between Kennedy and pressing against her center. The younger girl moans- she puts her hands on Willow's face and kisses her again. The need is so obvious-she starts to move on her leg but Willow moves it. "Please-" Kennedy pleads, "Willow-I-"
"Shhh baby-I know," her hands move to the button on her Slayer's pants and then to the zipper. Once they are loose she turns Kennedy to the wall and without hesitation slips her hand inside. The young Slayer moans again as the redhead plays in her wet curls, then cries out as she slides two fingers home and starts a steady but fast rhythm. In only a few thrusts she feels her lover begin to contract around her fingers. She slows down to prevent her release wanting the need to build a little more.
"So-close-Red-" she tries to touch herself but Willow moves her hand away putting it on her own thigh. Once she is sure the hand will not move she travels a path under Kennedy's shirt and begins to massage her breast. Her fingers begin to move faster again and Kennedy cries out, "Goddess-" her breath is in short gasps and she is lost in Willow's touch. This time as she starts to tremble her redhead increases her pace and then sucks her ear into her mouth. "Wil-loooow!" screams the Slayer as she explodes. Almost losing her ability to stand she leans against her redhead. "O-oh-god-dess," she pants as she tries to control her breathing.
Willow smiles as she kisses her neck, her fingers still gently rocking inside her Slayer, "That what you needed help with baby?" Kennedy tries to nod and Willow smiles at her inability. "Need anything else?"
"Ma-maybe later-Willow that-that was amazing." She finally manages to move and turns to the redhead kissing her lips. Willow moves her fingers out slowly and her girl moans at the loss. As they end the kiss she repeats again, "Amazing." She leans her forehead against her lover's.
After the long flight the tired travelers walk into the house quietly. Xander is asleep on the couch with two five year olds draped on him. The three smile at the scene before them-Kennedy sets Alex's carrier on the coffee table and bends down to pick up Annie-Willow moves to get Aly. As they start to walk away with them both girls begin to wake up. "Mommy?" says Aly.
"Shhhh-sleep baby girl we'll talk in the morning before school," says the redhead.
In the girls' room they tuck their little Slayers in their beds and kiss them. Willow just watches them as they sleep-Kennedy's arms encircle her. "See no reason to worry."
"Yeah-they seem so grown up sometimes."
"Sometimes-but sometimes they're just five," says the young Slayer. She presses a kiss to the back of her head. "Let's get the baby to bed-I need some serious sleep and so do you."
"I am feeling a little jet laggy-"
"Wait till tomorrow-"
"Tomorrow we can tell Gail things are okay," smiles the redhead.
"Don't want to call her?"
"I think it'll be more real face to face."
"True-" she takes Willow's hand and they leave the room quietly after kissing each child again.
In the living room Buffy is sitting beside Xander he is almost awake, "Xander-" his eyes open and he smiles. "Hey-"
"Hey you-" he leans forward and kisses her lips. "I missed you."
"Wanna take me home and show me how much?" says the blonde with a seductive smile.
He nods and sits up as Willow and Kennedy come in the room.
"Will-we'll see you tomorrow," says Xander.
"Thanks-Xander," she smiles as the couple leaves without another word.
Kennedy gets Alex from his carrier and he coos up at her, "Hey Alex-how's Mama's boy?" Again he coos. They take him toward his room.
The next day Willow and Kennedy take the girls to the door of the school. Kennedy is holding Alex on her hip when she sees Gail drive up. As she gets out Willow waves and the mother walks to them. "When did you get back?"
"Last night-" says Willow.
"You can put the suitcases away," assures Kennedy.
"He won't be bothering you and neither will anyone else," smiles Willow.
She fights tears, "How?"
"Magic-" says the witch knowing that was the simplest answer.
"I thought so-the kids are safe?"
"You're all safe-" says Kennedy.
Gail hugs each of them, "Thank you-both." Willow nods as her hand slides into Kennedy. Gail simply smiles. "Why don't you come over tonight for dinner?"
"That would be good-" says Kennedy.
Later that night Kennedy is spooned around her redhead as she sleeps. The young Slayer can't seem to fall asleep-her mind is racing. She leans forward and kisses the top of Willow's head. She then whispers, "Are you awake?"
"Yeah-" answers the redhead in a whisper.
"Something not right?"
"No-just thinking about Buffy and Faith-the babies. It's an exciting time for them," says Willow.
"Yeah-till the morning sickness gets worse-" says the young Slayer.
"Bad as it was-it was worth it."
"Absolutely-I'd do it again," says Kennedy. They are quiet, Kennedy smiles, "So do you wanna?-I mean is that what you've been thinking about?"
"Maybe-" She turns to face her love- "I'm not sure. I mean before we talked about kids-we had kids." They both smile and Kennedy nods. "We need to think it through-"
"I agree-"
"Everybody pregnant-makes me want another baby-" says the young mother.
"But?" asks the young Slayer.
"But can we take care of four kids?"
"Not just kids, kids with destinies and powers."
"There's a lot to talk about-" says the redhead.
"So tomorrow after we drop the girls at school we'll talk," says Kennedy.
"Okay-" she kisses her softly. "I love you."
"I love you-now sleep," says the young Slayer as she pulls her tightly against her.
At Buffy's apartment the blonde Slayer is in the bathroom throwing up. Xander sits on the floor beside her-his hand rubbing her back, "I really hate this-" complains the Slayer as she starts to throw up again.
And in Cleveland, the brunette Slayer is also on her knees in the bathroom-her breakfast leaving faster then she was able to eat it. Robin is holding her hair back with one hand and wiping her face with the other. The cold cloth feels good on her skin. She finally stops heaving and leans against him, "This just sucks-"
