A Long and Winding Road (in desperate need of repair): Part 3
"No-" repeats Faith a little softer this time and the babies stay put. She breathes a sigh of relief. Kennedy stands next to them, touching each to make sure they're there and not just her imagination or a glamour. "They're okay-" assures the once dark Slayer as her eyes meet the younger Slayer's.

"Yeah-thanks-"

"No problem." She pauses, "You know-when this is over you might want to look into why they get all shimmer-y."

"Yeah-I'll put it on the list of things to do, after we find my wife, my kids, and stop the world from ending-again." She shakes her head.

Buffy who has joined then sort of smiles, "Welcome to my world."

Later Willow is sitting on the merry-go-round in the park. She stands as she sees Annie and Aly materialize and walk toward her. Aly speaks first, "Mom-"

"Aly-" she replies. "We don't have to do this-let me help you." She takes a stone from her pocket but with a beam of light Annie knocks it away.

"We don't need your help," states Annie.

"Then why am I here?"

"We want you to join us-take your place with us. Together we can rule the world," says the young Slayer.

"At what cost?"

"The cost isn't important-" says Aly.

"For the prophecy to take effect you have to kill the babies," her eyes meet Aly's, "Your babies-the ones you fought so hard to keep safe."

Aly looks away then back at the witch, "They had to be for the power to become ours, now they don't."

Panic fills the redhead's face, "You don't mean that-"

"I do-give them to us-tell us where they are."

"No-" she shakes her head.

"Then the others will die-" states Annie matter-a-factly.

"You won't find them-they're safe."

"We'll find them and you'll watch them die." She grabs Willow's arm and before the witch can break away they all begin to shimmer and then fade away.

At the house Kennedy tries to listen as Buffy and Giles talk. The house is full of family. Her eyes fall on her kids as Alex stands beside his four younger sisters, crossbow in hand and she smiles at him. She turns her attention back to the blonde Slayer.

The door opens and Xander comes in with the scythe and a handful of crystals. He hands the scythe to his wife and walks toward her with the crystals. She takes them quietly knowing that her job will be to capture the magic of her oldest daughters inside the stones.

"How do we find them?" Asks Faith.

Kennedy looks at the group, "Call them," she concentrates and in her mind she speaks, 'Willow-can you hear me?' she gets no answer. 'Please Will-help me find you.'

Suddenly Annie's voice is in her head. 'Mama-we've been waiting.'

'If you hurt her-' she stops. 'Where are you?'

'Some place you can't go-' answers Aly- 'Where are my kids?'

'Safe from you-'

'We'll give you the witch-for the prophesied ones.'

'How do we trade?'

'Tell us were you are.'

'Right-you know that's not gonna happen.'

'Kennedy-' Willow's voice fills her mind. 'Keep them safe. Don't worry about me-I'm fine-fit as a fiddle-pretty as a picture-you know.'

'Enough-' echoes Annie's anger then the voices are gone.

"Pretty as a picture," repeats Kennedy. "The caverns-" she states as she looks at the others.

"How do we get there," asks Xander.

"Last time we hitched a ride," says Faith. "Can't this time."

"Maybe we can," says the oldest Slayer as her eyes fall on the triplets and Katie who stands next to them.

"No way," says Kennedy- "I won't let you put them in danger." She steps closer to them as well.

"It's the only way-" says Giles.

Katie speaks for the first time, "They're babies, what can they do?"

Tears fall down the Kennedy's face as she realizes that if she fails her lover loses her life and her daughters fall to the powers of darkness. She looks at Katie, "They have power," She looks to Faith and then her children and grandchildren, then back to Faith again. "You up for a fight?"

"Hell yeah-" she looks around the room waiting for someone to comment about her language but no one does. "Weapons all around. Alex-there another crossbow around here?"

"In the weapons chest," he says softly.

Faith moves across the room to the chest and opens it. She gets out two more crossbows, keeps one and gives the other to Kennedy. She looks to Buffy and the blonde Slayer shakes her head, "Got all I need," she holds up the scythe.

Xander moves forward and gets an axe of his own, Robin picks out one as well. Faith smiles at her husband. Giles starts to the chest and then stops as he feels a hand on his shoulder, Kennedy speaks- "I need you here-" she goes to the desk and takes out a large stone. "With this you should be able to hold a barrier."

"What about the dark magic?" asks Xander.

"Willow fixed it-it's safe," assures the Slayer. Giles takes the stone and a folded piece of paper. "It's the activating spell."

"Of course," says the Watcher as he moves to the children.

Buffy looks around the room and then at Faith- "You sure you're up for a fight?"

"5x5," smiles the once rogue Slayer and everyone smiles.

"Then this is what we do-" starts Kennedy.

Later in the underground caverns Willow watches as her daughters order the demons to their tasks. She hears them rage as demon after demon returns unsuccessful in the mission to find the babies.

"Worthless," states Aly in anger. "I should destroy you all."

"A true goddess would," says the redheaded witch trying to better the chances of the Slayers when they arrive.

At her words Aly strikes down another group of demons and Keslar speaks, "You should not listen to the witch."

"Quiet," screams Aly, frustration evident in her voice, "or you will be next." The Ancient walks away but his eyes never leave the twins.

Willow speaks again, "You let him question you and live?"

Aly glares but takes no action. "Once."

Willow again looks around the cavern, she remembers it from the last time she was forced to fight here. She watches as demons shimmer in and out of the cave. "How do they do that?"

"What?"

"Leave-do they teleport?"

"Yes, but it's borrowed power for most," states Annie.

"The power stolen for the coven?"

"And from others," Annie adds with a smile.

"If I chose to help you-how will you restore my power?"

"It's simple-" says Aly-she walks to a pool and looks in at the flashing lights. "It's a submersion of sorts."

Keslar returns, "Enough-can't you see she is tricking you?"

Aly stares at him and her power surges, she holds out her hands and energy balls fly in his direction. He is able to knock them away but he is distracted and Annie fires as well. The Ancient screams and then turns to ash. Willow smiles, her face turned from her teenaged daughters.

At the house Kennedy looks down at the three babies in the crib. Katie kisses each and fights tears as she looks to the Slayer. "I won't let anything happen to them."

"I know-be careful."

Kennedy nods then looks to Xander, he has rigged a harness so that the babies will fit snuggly against her body. "Let's do this." He fits the harness around the Slayer-then Katie, Faith and Buffy puts the babies inside. They all rest against her chest making it difficult for her to maneuver. "Stay close-" Alex walks to her and hands her the crossbow. She smiles at her son. "Thanks-"

"It's the special one-remember?"

"I remember." Buffy looks at her unsure but lets it go.

Faith speaks for the first time in a while, "Okay little guys-lets with the shimmering."

As if on cue the babies start to shimmer. The adults put a hand on Kennedy and soon they are gone from the room. When that happens Giles recites the words and the barrier goes up around those present.

In the caverns the twins smile as they feel a shirt in the magicks. "Feel that?" asks Annie.

"Yes-" smiles Aly. She turns to her mother. "I know where they are-and it was genius." Willow looks worried. "The house."

Annie turns to the demons gathered at the thrones. "Follow the magic and bring them here." Ten demons fade away.

"Don't hurt them-" pleads their mom.

"Just for a little while," smirks Annie.

Suddenly the cavern is filled with Slayers and the Scooby Gang. Kennedy throws two crystals that hit each twin stunning them briefly. Willow jumps into the pool and calls out as she fills her power returning to her. When it is finished she crawls from the electrical field and over to the twins, who lay on the ground at Kennedy's feet. Kennedy helps her to her feet. "Willow-" she looks at the blonde Slayer in time to see the scythe coming at her. She catches it and the power surges. She chants over the twins. Each begin to cry out.

The others fight the demons as they approach. Kennedy stands with her witch to protect her. As the chanting continues more demons appear but Kennedy is able to keep them away.

Soon the cavern is full of dead demons. Just as Buffy smiles across at Xander the whole place begins to shake. "So not good-" she mumbles.

Xander looks toward the others, who close ranks around the Willow and Kennedy. "Another earthquake?" asks Faith.

Before anyone can answer a cloud of black materializes and The First is in front of them- "I will win-"

"Not likely," says Faith. More demons appear, as the mist is gone. "When am I gonna learn to just keep my mouth shut?"

"Wondering that too," says Robin with a smile. She simply rolls her eyes at him and the fighting continues.

Willow begins to glow as beams come forth from the scythe and land on the twins. Black mist raises from them and they cry out again. Kennedy looks to her witch and down at her kids crying out in pain. "Will-?"

"They're okay-it has to do this," she says through clinched teeth as her own body trembles.

The fighting continues and the demons keep coming. Kennedy loads the crossbow and looks around. "Hang on." She looks at the others and waits for them to grab onto each other. Faith holds onto her on one side and Buffy holds onto her from the other. She shoots the arrow and the room is filled with laser light that cuts through the demons as it reaches them.

The ground again begins to shake and Willow falls. She continues her chant as she places the scythe into the hands of her children and they begin to glow a soft white. As their eyes open the black is gone and a tired Willow smiles. "Mom-?" whispers Aly, "What happened?"

"Shhhh-let's get you home first." She kisses the forehead of each girl.

Kennedy kneels down beside them as well, "Why are the babies here?"

"Long story-" smiles the twins' mama.

"We ready Willow?" Her eyes meet those of her love.

"Yeah-let's go home.

"Got that little ones-one way ticket home."

"Do not pass go-" smiles Xander as he and the others hold on to Kennedy and the babies begin to shimmer.

As they materialize into the living room of the house too very tired and confused young Slayers are hugged and kissed by everyone there. Finally the twins are lying on opposite ends of the couch. "Someone want to tell me why my babies shimmer?" She asks as she holds the three little infants in her arms.

"Not sure-" says Buffy, "But it cool."

"And this time it saved you butt," smiles Faith.

"We'll figure it out," assures her mom. "Let's get you two up to bed."

"No arguing from me," says Annie. Before Kennedy can stand Erin and Ellie are at her side.

"We can tuck her in," they smile.

"Thanks," says their older sister and she stands on shaky legs."

"Why don't I help too," smiles Kennedy? The four of them leave the room.

Katie kisses her redhead and stands, "Come on-I'll tuck you in." She smiles.

"Okay-" Katie takes one baby and hands her to Willow, she then holds the other two as Aly gets to her feet. They start out of the room. Willow has a hand on Aly's elbow. "Mom-what we did-"

"Shhhh-it's over."

"Is it?" She asks unsure.

"Yes-"

"But the babies-"

"We protected you and you'll protect them."

Katie speaks softly, "Sleep now-worry later." She kisses her tired young Slayer softly.

Willow smiles and looks down at the baby in her arms. As she does she stops walking, "Mom-" she looks up to Aly. "Something not right?"

"Yeah-No-it was just the light." She says as she looks back into Kyra's green eyes.

Questions
A few days later Willow and Kennedy lie in each other's arms, the redhead can't seem to sleep. "Will?"

"Yeah?" She whispers. She looks across in the darkness of the room and tries to see her love.

"Something happened you're not telling-"

"No-" she tries, but her answer is too quick and too terse.

"Willow-" she stops and leans forward to press a kiss to her wife's lips. "Talk to me," she says as she pulls back from her redhead's lips.

"It was nothing-I think-" she tries again to avoid the subject.

"What was nothing?"

"The night we came back after-" she stops as the fear filters into her words.

"From the caverns?" Willow nods against her Slayer's shoulder.

She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly before leaning in for another kiss. Kennedy touches her face with her hand as they break apart. "Kyra-when I was carrying her up the stairs." Tears threaten to form and fall.

"You're scaring me Will-"

"Her eyes they changed."

"Changed? You mean like-like the others-black?"

"I think-or maybe it was the light."

"They were blue and then they weren't and then they looked kinda green."

"Were they black?"

Willow turns away from her Slayer and Kennedy spoons around her, then presses a kiss to her shoulder. "They just weren't blue."

"But sometimes baby's eyes are all with the change-y-right?"

"Sometimes," agrees Willow. They are quiet, "and why can't we find out why they shimmer?"

"In time we will-you know that." The Slayer turns the redhead to face her again. "I won't let anything happen."

"Okay-" Willow says as tears finally fall. Kennedy kisses her lips and holds her tightly.

Down the hallway Aly and Katie are having a conversation of their own. Blue eyes are locked with green as they face each other, lying side by side. "You sure you're up to it?" Asks the young witch. The young Slayer responds by leaning in and kissing her lips soundly. As they begin to open and close together in a steady rhythm Aly moans. As the kiss ends Katie smiles, "It's been awhile."

"Too long-but I think I remember," she smiles as she pulls her witch closer and they kiss again. As the kissing turns to caressing, hands begin to find their way under clothes. Aly manages to work Katie's pajama top over her head and reconnect their lips without too much interference. The young Slayer's hands begin to tease soft skin and lips follow as she pulls out of the kiss. "Something like this?" She asks with a smile as her eyes meet her lover's.

"Just like that," answers the blue-eyed girl. Aly's lips continue to trail along her body. They stop however as the new parents hear a baby cry. Aly drops her head on Katie's chest and they both sigh before giggling. "I love them you know-" says the witch, "but their timing could sure use some work."

She kisses just below Katie's right breast and her girl moans. "Like that don't you?"

"Mmmm-" her only reply. As Aly takes the pebbled flesh into her mouth, her witch moans loudly. She suckles for a brief minute and then pulls away. "Don't-"

"Be right back." She slides from the bed and walks across the room to the door that joins their room with the nursery. Aly goes in to find all three babies awake. The boys coo contentedly as Kyra cries. She picks up the little girl and checks her diaper. "You're wet," she smiles. "Mommy will fix that." She takes the baby to the changing table and soon has the old diaper gone and a new one in its place. She presses a kiss to the baby's cheek and places her back into the crib with her brothers. As she turns to leave Aidan begins to fuss. "Hey-what's a matter?" She picks up the boy to find him wet as well and goes through the same routine with him. She puts him back in the crib and gently kisses him on the head. She picks up Adam and checks his diaper to find it dry. "Good baby boy." She kisses her son and places him back in the bed. As soon as she does Kyra begins to cry again. She rolls her eyes, "Let me guess-hungry?" She looks back toward the door to her room and then thinks that the chance to actually make love with her girlfriend is slipping away. She picks up the little girl again and walks to the rocking chair with her. She fixes her tank top and begins to nurse the fussy child.

Later after feeding all three she walks back into her room to find her girl sleeping soundly. "Figures," she mutters under her breath with a slight smile as she climbs carefully into bed beside her. Katie turns to face her but her eyes are still closed. Aly smiles as she sees the pajama top has not been put back on. "Maybe-" her smile brightens. She moves closer to the teenager and kisses her lips.

Katie's eyes open and the witch smiles, "I was having a really nice dream," her words are groggy.

"Was I in it?" Asks Aly.

"Unhuh-" she mumbles. "Come'ere." She pulls the young Slayer closer still and their lips meet in a soft kiss. "The babies okay?"

"Fed, dry and sleeping," she smiles. "Now where were we?"

"About here-" she pulls her Slayer on top of her and they kiss. Again Aly moves down the body under her. Lips tease as they lick and kiss down Katie's stomach and back up to her lips. The kiss intensifies as they open and close together. They both moan.

Soon clothes are gone; Katie now has her Slayer under her and is tracing her fingers along the now small scar along her girl's stomach. She looks into her green eyes, "You sure you're ready for this, it's only been a few weeks?" Her voice shows worry.

Aly stills her girlfriend's teasing hand and brings it to her lips and kisses it. "I'm good-" she smiles.

"That was never the question." They both smile. "Aly there's a reason the doctors say wait six weeks."

"I'm a Slayer-I don't need six weeks."

"Promise if something doesn't feel right you'll stop?"

"You'll be the first to know, now come on before they wake up."

Katie smiles and her lips find Aly's and they get lost in the kissing. Katie moves down her Slayer's body. Lips kiss her neck-just behind her ear and she moans loudly. "Goddess-" she mumbles as her body starts to hum. Katie stays there licking and nipping until she finally brings skin at Aly's pulse point between her lips and sucks. The young Slayer calls out, "Oh-Katie-please-" the girl smiles against her mark and continues down the body beneath her. She leaves a trail of kisses from her neck, to for waist and then back up to her breasts. She teases and Aly cries out again before she brings one stiff peak into her mouth and sucks. Aly arches into her needing more contact. Skilled hands slip under the waistband of the young Slayer's boxers and they are gone instantly. Katie's fingers tease at soft, wet curls.

"Please baby-please."

"Shhhhh-" she whispers against her girl's stomach as she moves her lips lower still. She teases by running a single finger through already slick folds and Aly bucks against her touch.

"Yes-sss-" she cries. Katie smiles and presses a kiss to her young Slayer's hip as she tries to hold her still. "Please-" comes the plea as Aly feels Katie's lips move to soft curls and her tongue explores. "Shit-" she moans.

"Language," she whispers.

"Your fault," manages the redhead as she again arches into the brunette. "Just-" before she can finish Katie stops teasing as fingers slip carefully inside. "Goddess-" she begins to tremble as Katie's starts to move.

"Okay?"

"Mmmm-" is all she can manage as the pace drives her closer. In the background they hear a baby cry. "Nooo-" whines the young mother. "Don't stop-almost-" Katie's thrusts become faster and she curls her fingers slightly. Aly calls out as she falls hard. Her body spasms as the orgasm hits her. Katie crawls back up her body and holds her as she tries to recover.

The baby still cries, Katie grabs her shirt after a kiss to Aly's lips and she starts to get out of bed. "Be right back." She slips away as Aly continues to feel little jolts through her body.

The next morning the triplets are in their carriers sitting in the bay window. Aly is playing with them as she sits there staring out at the cloudy sky. Kennedy walks through and smiles. "Doing okay?"

"Breakfast finished just hanging with the gang," she looks at her kids and then her mama.

"Sleeping any?"

"Them or Katie and I?"

"Either?"

"We can't seem to get them on schedule at night," says Aly as Kennedy sits beside them. "Open for suggestions."

"I'd try-" before she can finish four excited eleven or eleven and a half-year-olds run into the room. "Girls-something chasing you?" Asks Kennedy as she stands and scans the area.

"No Mama," says Kara.

"Then why are you running in the house?"

The four girls blush, and it is Ellie who apologizes for the group. "We're sorry Mama-but guess what?"

"What?" She smiles at her girls.

"Mom says we can have a party," smiles Kristen.

"A party?" Kennedy looks unsure. "What kind of party?"

"A welcome home party for the babies," Erin supplies as she looks toward them.

Aly smiles and looks at her mama, "A party? They don't need a party."

"You wanna tell your mom that?" Aly shakes her head no. Kennedy just smiles. "Then there's gonna be a party."

"Tomorrow night-with cake and ice cream-" adds Kara.

"And presents," smiles Ellie.

"But not for us, for the babies," Kristen states.

Aly looks at her mama, "Presents?-" she stops as Kennedy raises her hand.

"Talk to your mom not me," she smiles.

"Talk to me what?" Asks Willow as she walks into the room.

"The party Mom," says Erin as she rolls her eyes. Kennedy smiles at how much she looked like Willow in that instant.

"They told you?" The young redhead nods. "It was gonna be a surprise."

"You didn't say it was a secret," Kara states.

"We don't tell secrets," assures Ellie.

"No-I didn't-it's okay."

Willow moves into her Slayer's arms, "What time is the gang coming over?"

"Seven, okay?" She looks toward Aly. "Is seven too late?"

"Seven is fine Mom." She smiles, "And Katie doesn't know so it'll be a surprise to her."

Willow smiles, "I need to shop-"

"Can we come too," asks Kara.

"I'll need help-so yes. Kiss your mama." The girls kiss Kennedy and leave running through the house again.

Kennedy shakes her head, "We really need to talk about house rules."

"We'll talk on the way-promise," she kisses Kennedy and then goes over and kisses each of the babies. "By babies-Gram loves you." She slips out of the room.

Katie comes in and over to them, "Whatcha doing?" She asks as she kisses Aly softly.

"Mama was about to help us with the whole not sleeping at night thing."

Excited Katie hugs the Slayer, "You can do that?"

"I think maybe."

"Yea!" She smiles.

Later that night Willow, Aly and Katie are researching again as the babies sleep in a crib not five feet from them. Kennedy promised to join them later after a talk to re-emphasize the rules of behavior with their youngest children. They turn page after page quietly as they again can't seem to find anything to help. Willow finally speaks, "Maybe we're doing this all wrong."

"What do you mean wrong," asks Katie.

"We're looking for prophecies-cause well, it would make sense."

"You want to look for something that wouldn't make sense?"

"Maybe it's just part of what they are able to do-because of the magic that created them," states the older redhead.

"That's too simple-" starts Aly.

"Yeah but-you think? Could it really be that easy to explain?" Hers eyes move from Willow's to Aly's and then back.

"When Alex was a baby he use to float a mobile around his head when he was tired-or bored," states the older witch.

"I sort of remember that-" says Aly.

"As he got older it just stopped."

Alex walks in, "What stopped?"

"Your floating mobile," smiles his mom.

He sits beside her, "It was cool-" he smiles at one of his earliest memories.

"How'd you do it?" Asks Aly.

"I just could-" he shrugs. "I can't now," he adds. "Not since I was little."

"So if the shimmering is like Alex's mobile-they'll just out grow it?" Asks Katie as she looks at Aly and then Willow.

"It's possible-that they have so much power that until they understand how to use it-it manifests itself in strange ways." Willow looks toward the babies.

The others do the same, "We can live with that right?" Asks Katie.

"Yeah-as long as they don't just vanish from a stroller in the park while some nice old lady is talking to them."

Alex begins to laugh and so does his mom, "That would be cool-I'd like to hear you explain that one."

Aly mock glares at him, "Okay little brother-watch it."

He glares back, "Want to go?" He teases using his mama's classic confrontational line. He stands.

"You want a piece of me?" She plays back and stands in front of him. The others watch as the game progresses. They both get into their fighting stances and Aly makes the first move.

Katie hears a whine and looks toward the babies. Aidan is shimmering. "Stop," she says. Alex and Aly stop and as they do the baby calms. "He was scared-that's why he-and now he's not." She moves toward her son and Aly follows. She watches at her girlfriend's side as she picks up the baby. "It's okay-they were just playing." She kisses his head and Aly leans over to do the same.

"Now we know why at least." She looks to her mom and the redhead nods.

"He was afraid-" Willow says softly.

The young mother touches his face for the second time in the last few seconds. "It's okay Aidan-" she kisses him again. Lost in the little boy, she and Katie both miss the array of colors that travel his little sister's eyes. Adam starts to fuss and Aly looks down at the baby. "Getting close to dinnertime," she smiles down and picks him up. "Are you hungry?" He fusses back at her. "Taking that as a yes," she kisses her son's head. She walks to the table and sits down with the baby.

Katie has Aidan still in her arms as she sits at the table as well, "You wanna be next for a snack?" He coos.

As Aly starts to unbutton her blouse Willow glances at her only son, "Alex could you see if your mama is about finished with her talk?"

"Ah-sure, can I tell her we figured out the shimmering?"

"If you want," she smiles.

He looks at his sister who is nursing the baby, a blanket covering her shoulder, "Training room later?"

"Meet you there in an hour?" He nods and leaves.

Willow looks at her oldest daughter, "Don't hurt him."

"I won't he-not sure I can anymore. He's getting stronger and with the magicks," she stops and smiles. "He can watch my back any day."

The night comes and goes and the new mothers actually get a little more sleep. The day passes without any major problems. Babies are bathed and changed, then put down for their naps. Katie and Aly watch them sleep, as they look at them Aly turns to her girlfriend, "We could nap too-Mom says its sort of a rule survival."

"Your mama told me too, they sleep-you sleep."

"So sleeping it is." She kisses each baby and Katie does the same. They walk to their room holding hands.

As they stretch out on their bed their eyes close, they wrap their arms around each other. Katie puts her head on her Slayer shoulder. Aly presses her lips against her forehead. That's how Annie finds them two hours later, their positions unchanged as they sleep in each other's arms. She looks at Ellie and smiles. "Let's let them sleep." Ellie nods and they close the door. The teenaged Slayer and her younger sister go into the babies' room from the hallway door. They both smile as they see the babies are awake.

Ellie looks at her sister, "I can help you get them dressed for the party."

"You sure?" Annie isn't convinced that either of them can do that.

"Yeah-I've changed diapers lots of times."

"Lots of times?" Annie raises am eyebrow.

"Twice-and Mama just helped a little."

"So it'll be easy right-I mean Katie and Aly do it all the time."

"Right," agrees Ellie. They walk to the crib and Annie gets out Aidan-she hands the baby to her sister. "Diapers first?"

"Sounds like a plan." She picks up Adam leaving Kyra in the crib.

Later Aly starts to wake up, her eyes open and she sits up slowly as she hears noise coming from the nursery. She stands and it wakes up Katie who looks at her unsure and they go out of their room and it the babies' room. Both start to laugh at the sight they see. Katie laughs harder as Aly clears her throat and all movement stops. "What are the two of you trying to do?" She asks her sisters.

Surprise!
A small cloud of dust from the baby powder fills the air around the changing table. Aly and Katie begin to laugh. "Did you get any powder on him?" She asks her sisters as she sees they are both covered with white talc.

"Shut up-" says Annie but she too begins to laugh. "Okay-so we could us a little help."

"A lot of help," states Katie as she rescues Aidan from her arms and walks to the whimpering naked baby to the changing table. She begins to diaper him and Annie watches carefully. She looks surprised at the ease at which Katie finished the task. "See?" She questions as she picks up her son.

"Got it-" she nods.

Aly smiles as she lays Kyra on the table, "Watch one more time." She removes Kyra's sleeper and then her diaper. She powders her and puts a clean diaper on her daughter. "Okay?"

"Sure-" she says.

Katie hands her Adam and smiles, "Now let's see you do it."

"I don't-you should probably-"

"Try again, no laughing this time-we promise," says her twin.

"Swear?" Clarifies Annie. Katie and Aly both nod. "Okay-then-let's do this." She lays her nephew on the changing table and starts by carefully removing his sleeper. "Sleeper off-" she smiles. "Now the diaper," as she removes it she smiles and looks at her sister, "This is easy," she turns back around in time to get hit with a spray of wetness. "What the-" she stops and lays a diaper on the baby. Everyone laughs including Ellie. Annie glares and then laughs as well.

Later as the Welcome Home party begins, the house starts in fill with people. Friends and family sit and talk each getting a turn holding the babies. With the celebration about to hit full swing, there is a knock at the door. "I got it-" smiles Katie as she hands Aidan to Aly and kisses her lips softly. "It's Mom and Dad." She moves to the door.

When she reaches the door she sees Kennedy walking down the stairs with Adam. "All changed-" says Kennedy with a smile as she kisses the little boy.

Katie smiles as well, "I'll take him-" she cuddles the baby as she opens the door. She sees her parents and her smile grows. "Hi-"

"So this is where the party is," says her dad as he kisses her on the cheek.

"This is the place."

She spots the present in her mom's hand, "You didn't have to bring-"

"We know but it's just a little something. Here-trade me," smiles Gail as she hands Katie the package and takes her grandson. "I think he's grown since last weekend-" she kisses his cheek. "Say hi grandpa-" she turns the baby toward her husband and the man smiles.

Later the group of partiers are talking and passing the babies around all smiling. Kennedy is taking pictures as of the babies. Aly smiles as Katie cuddles into her arms. A picture her mama can't pass up- "Got you-" she smiles.

Aly rolls her eyes, "Pictures of the babies."

"You're my baby," says Willow as she kisses the teenager on the head before sitting next to her.

"Mom-" whines the young Slayer.

Willow smiles until she hears Kara's words- "She's not your baby-I am."

"You all are," assures the redhead as her youngest daughter sits on her lap.

Later Willow is cutting cake and passing it around the room. She drops one and it ends up on Xanders lap. He glares, picks it up and without a second thought throws it at his lifelong friend.

"Xander," she says shocked.

"Xander-" echoes Buffy and before it can be stopped the kids are throwing cake as well.

Aly, Katie and Annie shield the triplets as much as possible. "Think we can sneak out?"

"Doubt it," comes an answer from behind them. Faith, Kennedy and Gail smear cake down their faces.

The teenagers glare, "I'll so get you," says Annie, her eyes locking on Faith. She hands the baby to Aly and runs after the Slayer.

Willow stands amazed, cake icing on her face as she watches the chaos of the room. The kids are chancing each other and their parents. She picks up the camera and takes a few pictures. She smiles.

A few minutes later as things start to calm the redhead hears the doorbell. Kennedy looks her way, "Probably the neighbors telling use to quiet down."

"The nearest neighbors are like miles away," says Willow with a smile. She tries to wipes some icing off before she reaches the door. Alex comes down the stairs remarkably clean, "Why don't you look like a cake exploded on you?" He shrugs standing next to her as she opens the door. Willow stares unable to speak. Alex does, "You here for the party?"

"Party?" She questions.

"M-mom-" Willow finally speaks.

"Hello Willow."

"Mom-" she says again.

Alex smiles, "Grandma?"

"How did you-who-"

Ellie enters the room, "I wrote her a letter."

"So you're Ellie?"

"I'm Ellie Mac-" the girl steps forward and hugs the woman getting icing on her dress. Willow stares and her mouth opens and closes but nothing comes out.
