Prologue
Kennedy is sitting in the bathroom floor, her hands resting on the toilet. She closes her eyes as Willow runs a wet cloth across her neck and then leaves it there. The redhead touches the young Slayer's face with her fingers. "Better?"

"I hate this-"

"I know." She kisses her forehead softly and her lips linger.

"Why didn't you warn me?-Tell me it felt this bad?"

Kennedy's eyes meet hers and she forces away the smile that threatens to cross her face. "I did-you said something about Slayers being tough-"

"I was wrong."

"Wanna try to go back to bed?"

"Try," agrees Kennedy.

She stands with Willow's help and they walk into the bedroom. Kennedy crawls into bed and the redhead covers her with a blanket. She kisses her lips, "I'll be right back, I'm gonna check on the girls."

"I'll be here-well, or there." She looks toward the bathroom. Willow leaves with a smile on her face.

In the twins' bedroom both four year olds are sleeping soundly in their beds. Willow fixes the covers on Annie's bed because she has again kicked them off. She kisses her then moves to Aly's bed. There, the little girl is sleeping sideways. The mother shakes her head and smiles. She doesn't try to move her she is afraid she might wake up. She just kisses her and walks to the doorway. She stands there for several minutes watching them sleep. She whispers, "Night baby girls." She leaves.

Back in her bedroom she finds the young Slayer sleeping. She leans down and kisses her forehead gently. "Sleep baby." As she raises up she looks toward the balcony then crosses over to pull back the curtains. She looks out into the lighted garden. She gets nervous when she thinks she sees something move in the shadows. She opens the door and walks out onto it looking around the backyard. She finally relaxes deciding it was just her overactive imagination. She looks around one last time then goes inside.

Below, stepping from the shadows, is the demon in the suit. He looks up at the balcony and smiles...

Training Slayers/Slayer Training
At the Academy, Willow, Kennedy, Buffy, and Giles continue to train the girls. Kennedy is in charge of the physical training she puts them through drills daily. They run, climb, tumble and even spar-Willow still doesn't like the fighting but she has stopped trying to change it.

Buffy helps with attack and escape strategies-Willow laughs at the thought of four-year-olds having a strategy of any kind, but the Slayer insists that's a must. She's told the witch more times than either can count that it's important-without it they'll just go jumping into things like Faith, that usually stops her complaints.

Willow has decided that the Magicks can wait-what they know is enough. She uses their time together to work on meditation and connecting with nature.

Giles is handling the final part of their studies, he is teaching them how to research. Research-I know it sounds crazy but he makes it work and the girls love their time with him. Today's lesson consists of a matching game of sorts. He shows them pictures and the twins look for them in ancient texts.

While Aly is looking through a book she sees a demon man in a suit. "Mommy?"

Willow sits beside her, "Find it?"

"Is he bad?"

Willow becomes instantly nervous at her words- "Very bad-why?"

"I saw him."

"You're sure?" Aly nods. "Where Aly?"

"At the zoo-when Mama was feeling yucky."

"Just that once?" Again the child nods. "What was he doing?"

"Just watching us."

"You tell if you see him ever again."

"I will Mommy-"

"That's good. Let's not say anything to Mama about this, we don't want her to worry-okay?"

"Okay." Willow pulls the child into her lap and holds her tightly. From across the room Kennedy watches unsure.

Later while the girls are working out with Kennedy, Willow and Buffy have a mocha and a conversation. "She's sure that's what she saw?"

The redhead nods- "And a couple of nights ago I was on the balcony-I thought I saw something but when I took a closer look-nothing."

"You think it was there and you spooked it?"

"Maybe-or maybe I'm overreacting. I have a bad feeling Buffy."

"Then we'll watch the house in shifts."

"Kennedy can't know-"

"Why?"

"She's so stressed right now with the baby and the morning sickness-let's give her some time?"

"Your call but I'm going on the record- saying it's bad idea. She's gonna catch us and then she's gonna be pissed and I don't know what happens with a pregnant pissed off Slayer."

"Yeah-well-" Willow seems to rethink the plan- "I'll take my chances."

A week later Xander is out front watching the house. Kennedy who is looking out the window spots him. She goes out of the house quietly and sneaks up behind him. "Hey-"

He jumps literally-"Jeez! Give me a heart attack."

"Why are you standing out here?"

"Ah-I was-well-"

"Tell me-"

"Sorry-" he runs toward his car. Kennedy looks at him angry.

Back inside the house she walks over to Willow. "Why was Xander outside our house?"

"Was Xander outside our house?"

"See now I know you're not telling me something cause you just answered my question with a question. What's going on Red?"

"Maybe he was-"

"I need to know-"

"No-baby you don't, you just need to rest and not worry so much." Willow touches her face and Kennedy leans into her hand. The redhead smiles thinking she has her distracted.

She pulls away, "That's not going to work-"

"Okay-come sit down." She leads the young Slayer to the couch and they sit together. "The guy in the suit-he's back."

"And you didn't tell me? Damn it Willow I'm the Slayer it's my job to know about things like this."

"Kennedy you're a Slayer that's true but," she touches the woman's stomach, "You're-the baby changes things."

She stands angry, "It changes nothing!" She starts to walk away but stops looking Willow in the eyes, "My job is to keep my kids safe."

Willow stands, she is taller than the young Slayer and also angry- "Our kids safe-all of them Kennedy." Her hands goes back to Kennedy's stomach and she keeps her eyes locked with hers. "All!" Kennedy is noticeably rattled. The prospects of losing the baby suddenly real to her. She fights tears as Willow's look and tone softens. "Okay?"

She nods, "Yeah-okay." Willow hugs her and tears start to fall.

"I love you."

"Why?" Kennedy forces a smile.

"Long list."

"Promise no more secrets Will-"

"No more secrets." She kisses her softly.

Kennedy is in the playroom with the girls, she is coloring with them. Annie is drawing a picture, her tongue is stuck out in concentration as she works. Aly is drawing too, a scene of a mountain surrounded by water. Kennedy smiles and goes back to her own picture, a girt for Willow of a sunset. The redhead watches her family from the doorway with a cup of tea in her hand. She smiles but it fades, replaced by worry. Aly looks up and sees her, "Hi Mommy."

Willow's smile returns, forced but present so the girl doesn't know she is afraid. "Hi-what are you guys doing?"

"Making pictures."

"I thought it was nap time?"

Annie answers, "Mama said we could finish our pictures."

Willow looks at her Slayer, "She did?"

As a peace offering she holds up the scene for the redhead to see. "For you."

"Wow-didn't know you could draw." She sits beside her.

Kennedy kisses her, "I've got lots of hidden talent-" she raises her eyebrows suggestively.

"I bet you do.-Five minutes girls then bed."

"Okay Mommy." They say in unison.

"And you-" she looks at Kennedy, "Bed now."

"Fine-" she plays hurt and walks that direction.

Willow shakes her head as she turns back to Annie and Aly, they are putting things away. She smiles as she realizes how lucky she is.

Later Kennedy and Willow are tangled in their sheets. Both are sleeping after their "Nap"-Willow is spooned protectively around her. The door opens slowly and Annie comes in. She walks to the bed and gently touches Willow. "Mommy?"-Her voice is scared. Willow moves slightly but her eyes stay closed. "Mommy-" she says a little louder. The redhead opens her eyes and they meet those of her daughter. "Can I sleep here?"

"More bad dreams?" Annie nods. "Sure baby girl." She crawls in bed between them and Willow hugs her close. "Want to tell me about it?"

"No-"

"Then we'll just sleep. Close your eyes."

Kennedy wakes up later not surprised to find Annie between them. The child is sound asleep but Willow is awake. The young Slayer takes her hand. "Another bad dream?"

"She nods, "I'm worried. Do you think they could be Slayer dreams?"

Kennedy seems to consider the idea before answering, "Technologically- I guess but-"

"We should talk to Giles."

"You're right." She forces a smile and stands bringing a blanket with her. "Waffles?"

The redhead smiles and nods. "Waffles."

A few days later Willow is talking to Buffy and Giles. "Where are they now?'

"Training with Kennedy and Xander.-Could they be?"

"It's possible-she's a Slayer."

But she's four years old Giles-she doesn't understand them. They scare her , she won't talk about them."

"She needs to-" says Buffy.

Willow's anger erupts, "You think I don't know that!?" She covers her face and takes a deep breath then let's it out slowly, "I'm sorry, I'm just-"

"Worried,- I get that Will."

"I don't know what to do."

"We'll figure it out." Buffy assures her.

Giles picks up the text, "Maybe I missed something in the translation." He starts to read it again.

In the training room Aly and Annie are working out with a small group of young girls, all Slayers. Kennedy and Xander are there watching. There has been only silence from the Slayer since they walked in together, Xander decides to take a chance on her mood swings. "So-looks like you're feeling better?"

"Still have my breakfast," is Kennedy's only comment.

"That's good-" he again weighs his chances of pissing off a hormonal Slayer. "But something still isn't right."

"No-Annie had another dream."

"And she's still not talking." Kennedy shakes her head. "Can I try?"

"Can't hurt-maybe she will." The group breaks up and the girls run over to them. "Have fun?"

"It was cool-we learned a reverse. Where's Mommy?"

"She's talking to Aunt B- why don't we find them."

They leave Annie with Xander. He smiles at her, "You don't wanna go?" She shrugs, "Let's get ice cream?" He grins-

"I haven't had dinner yet."

"I won't tell if you don't." They both smile.

Annie is playing with Dawn while the others talk. "You think she'll talk?"

"It might work."

Kennedy looks at Giles. "Is there a way to stop these demons?"

"They seem to be able to reproduce at a remarkable pace."

Buffy questions, "What about the Ancient they work for?"

"Kesler-" supplies Giles.

"Him-can we find him?"

Xander and Annie are in the cafeteria eating ice cream. Annie looks up at him. "Mama told you I had a bad dream didn't she?"

"We were talking about it, yeah. Pretty scary huh?" She shrugs, "Sometimes I dream about my friend who died, that's scary too."

"Nobody died in my dream-but the bad men in suits they were in it."

"Lots of them?"

"Maybe six-"

"What were they doing?"

She looks nervous and starts to play in the ice cream mixing it around. One had Aly and she was crying."

"Where were you?"

"I don't know-I can't remember."

"Could you see your Mommy?"

"I can't remember." Tears threaten to fall as she gets upset.

Xander changes the conversation. "Want to walk in the garden?"

She shakes her head, "I want Mommy." He picks up the child and walks toward the research room. "We'll go find her." She holds him tightly as she buries her face in his shoulder. "It's okay-shhh."

Fighting/Loving
A week later Kennedy and Willow are lying in their bed reading to the twins. The girls are snuggled between them. As Willow turns the page, Kennedy looks up toward the door. She looks at Willow, "Stay here," mouths the Slayer as she gets out of the bed.

The redhead whispers, "Kennedy-" she starts to stand.

The young Slayer's eyes meet the witch's, "You heard me-" her voice soft but firm. She goes to the door and out into the hall.

The girls are scared they look at their mommy unsure. She hugs them as she listens carefully. She can now hear a fight in the living room. She starts to leave but Annie's hand on hers stops her. Seconds later a suited demon appears in the room. Willow hits him with a blast and he flies into the wall. He leaves a fast as he arrived, vanishing quickly. Willow looks at her girls- "Make a barrier," she whispers as she hears Kennedy cry out. They do, "I'll be right back I need to check on Mama." They nod and she runs from the room.

In the living room she sees Kennedy trying to fight four of them. The Slayer breaks the neck of one then grabs for another. He sidesteps her and knocks her to the ground. The witch hits him with a blast of energy and he falls to the floor. Kennedy sees her and smiles; she knocks the third one to the ground and then goes after the last one. "The girls?-"

"They're safe," says the redhead.

"Go-Red." Kennedy grabs the last demon as Willow nods and goes back to the bedroom.

Annie and Aly are holding off a demon of their own. Willow attacks it and is able to knock it to the floor. She blasts it and runs to the girls. When they see they are safe they drop the barrier. The spell has drained them and Willow holds their tired bodies against her on the bed. "You did great-" she smiles proud of them.

"Where's Mama-is she okay?"

Before Willow can answer Kennedy runs in. "Everyone okay?"

"Yeah-"

"Awe-baby-your eye." It is already black and swollen. "I'll get ice."

"No-it's okay." Willow walks over to her. She touches her face then her stomach. They both look down at her hand then back into each other's eyes. "We're okay."

The redhead wraps her in her arms and kisses her forehead. "Crawl in bed with the girls, I'm getting ice." Kennedy does as she is told.

In the days that follow Annie's dreams stop and life seems to be back to normal. Well, at least normal for a family of witches and Slayers.

Kennedy's morning sickness has all but stopped weeks sooner then Willow's did. She smiles when she tells her redhead that it must be a Slayer thing. Willow just rolls her eyes at the comments not giving her the satisfaction of a debate.

Kennedy is starting to show just a little. It is more noticeable to Willow's knowing hands then to the eyes of those around her. At almost fifteen weeks only their closest friends have been told-keeping the news quiet seems reasonable for now.

Late one night the baby Slayers are sound asleep in their beds. The monitor which they have been using since the attack is on in their room. The receiver is on the balcony with Willow and Kennedy who are sitting on a blanket. Kennedy is sitting on Willow's lap her tanned legs encircle the witch's waist. Willow is tracing slow patterns on her young Slayer's back-her hands caressing warm skin under her tank top. Kennedy moans softly and bites her bottom lip as she closes her eyes. The redhead smiles at the effects of her touch on her Slayer. "Like that baby?"

"Mmmm-" is the only response you hear from the brunette as her hands tangle in Willow's hair and she pulls her into a passionate kiss. Mouths open and close in a steady rhythm, then tongues begin to explore first in one mouth then the other. Finally breathless they break apart. Kennedy struggles to slow her breathing as the redhead begins to slide her shirt from her body. The young Slayer raises her arms and she pulls it over her head tossing it away. Her bra follows as skilled hands remove it quickly. Kennedy is finally able to speak, she smiles as she does, "I can't watch stars like this."

The redhead lowers her to her back as she leans over her, "Trust me, you'll see stars." She presses her lips to the soft skin of the young Slayer's neck and starts a trail of soft licks and kisses down her body. Kennedy arches into the touch and moans her eyes tightly closed. Willow stops suddenly as she starts to caress her breast.

Kennedy's eyes open and meet hers, she breathes out, "No, don't stop Red-" she pulls Willow's hand to her chest.

The redhead's eyes show concern, "I don't want to hurt you-"

"You won't-they're not as sore now-it's okay." Willow nods and her hands begin to slowly and softly caress first one and then the other. Kennedy moans loudly at the touch, the extra sensitivity an added pleasure. "Yes!" Willow smiles.

Soon lips replace hands as she suckles gently, left and then right and back again. She stops as she feels Kennedy's movement on her leg increase. She wants this to be slow. "Slow baby-slow." Kennedy all but stops at the redhead's request not sure why but knowing it will be worth the wait. Willow's hand begins again to trace a path on the young Slayer's body-she reverently strokes her slightly rounding stomach. Kennedy's hand finds her wife's head and rests there. "So beautiful." She presses her lips again the bulge and kisses it several times. "I love you," she whispers as she pulls back. Her head rests there, one hand tracing circles on her stomach and the other slipping lower caressing her lover.

Kennedy cries out- "Goddess! -Please-" she arches into Willow hand as it gently explores her folds. "Please-" and the redhead finally grants her wish as fingers slide home. Their slow movement forcing moans from the Slayer. "Yes-I-" The pace increases as Willow kisses her stomach and then moves lower. Kennedy falls suddenly as lips join fingers. "Willow!" she cries as she rides the waves totally lost in the sensations rushing through her. "Goddess!" Her fingers tighten in Willow's hair as her redhead's fingers and lips continue to drive her toward yet another release.

Later they lye wrapped in each others arms. Kennedy's breathing is still fast and shallow. Her head rests on Willow's stomach. "You okay baby?" asks the redhead concerned that maybe they over did it.

"Better-than good. And by the way so are you." Willow smiles at her words. The tired young Slayer snuggles closer to her.

Willow pulls her completely on top of her. Kennedy's head now lying on her chest. She kisses her on top of the head, "You should sleep."

"Couldn't if I tried." She lift her head and kisses Willow's lips. As she pulls away she raises her eyebrows playfully.

Willow smiles, "You're not serious-?"

"Too tired?"

"No, but you- " She pauses and starts again. "You're sure you're okay?" Kennedy's hand disappears between them and Willow moans as she eyes close and she arches into the touch. "That's a yes."

Having Faith
Kennedy is fixing pancakes for the girls. Willow is in the shower she can hear the water running and she smiles as she remembers their shower the night before. The water stops and she turns her attention back to breakfast. Annie and Aly come in dressed for the day in jeans and tank tops. Kennedy smiles at her girls- "Morning-"

"Morning Mama," says Annie.

Aly hugs her and then both sit down at the table. "Are we having eggs?"

"No-pancakes-Mommy's favorite."

"We had pancakes yesterday," says Annie.

"Okay-" says the young Slayer as she turns the stove off and moves the skillet. She leaves the room before the girls can see her tears. She goes into the bedroom and as she does Willow comes from their bathroom in a towel. She sees the tears, "Sweetie what's wrong?"

The tears fall harder as the young Slayer shrugs her shoulders. Willow wraps her in her arms. "They want eggs-"

"What?"

"I was fixing pancakes and they want eggs and-" she tries to pull herself together. "Damn hormones-" she smiles. "I feel stupid-"

Willow kisses her forehead, "You're not stupid, just pregnant-welcome to the roller coaster ride."

"Great-can't wait."

A few days later, Buffy is sitting at the table with Giles and Xander, they are all researching trying to find more information on the Ancient. Giles looks up from his book and removes his glasses. "Finally-it's not much but-"

He hands the book to the Slayer as he cleans his glasses. Xander looks at her- "Should we call Willow?"

"No-Faith-and now." She goes to the phone and begins to dial.

Xander looks unsure- "What's wrong?"

Giles speaks, "He's aligned with The First."

"We have to tell them."

"I know-just let me get a plan and we'll tell them everything at once."

Giles adds, "She's right-"

"Faith-"

"Hey B- what's the what?"

"An all expenses paid trip to England?"

"Something's wrong?"

"Yeah-"

"I'm there-"

Later that night again Kennedy is in tears this time even she can't explain them. She is sitting on the bed with Willow holding her close. "It's okay-the tears are just part of-"

"If you say being pregnant I'm gonna scream."

"Okay-but the mood swings are normal."

"I don't cry this is not normal-" her voice is louder and angry.

"Right-fine look-" she let's her go and looks into her eyes, "I'm going to check the girls-take a shower you'll feel better." Willow stands.

"Fine-just leave-"

Willow looks at her unsure of what to do, "Kennedy-"

"No-it's cool-don't worry about me I'm good."

"Baby-" Kennedy's tears start again. Willow roles her eyes and sits down again. The young Slayer holds her tightly. "Ah-baby-ah-can't breath-" Kennedy let's her go and stands up leaving the room. Willow hears the door slam closed. "How many more months?" She smiles but worry soon follows.

Willow steps out of the girls' room and into the hallway as the door opens and Kennedy walks in. Willow walks toward her tentatively. Kennedy stops in front of her. "It's okay-it's me-crazy psycho bitch has left the building." She leans into the redhead who smiles and pulls her into a hug.

"Good cause I missed you."

"Yeah-?" she smiles and kisses her playfully. "How much?"

"Let me show you-" she takes her hand and leads her to their bedroom. Once the door is closed she kisses her lips and then her neck.

"Feels nice-" she gets lost in Willow's touch as the redhead caresses her body.

Before long clothes are gone and they are lying on the bed. Willow touches Kennedy's growing stomach gently with her fingers. Her lips press against it and she speaks softly, "Mommy loves you." She lays her head there unmoving. Kennedy smiles and then begins to trace small patterns on the redhead's bare shoulder. She then slides her hand as far as she can down Willow's body. "Mmmm-" is her response and she moves back up so that she is eye to eye above her Slayer. Kennedy flips her to her back and begins to lick and kiss her neck the cool steel of her stunned tongue ring driving Willow crazy. "Goddess-" she gasps as Kennedy continues down her body.

Kennedy is at the Academy doing a modified workout that was set up by her OB/GYN. Willow is at home with the girls. Annie and Aly are playing in the playroom with their toys. Willow is watching as they walk horses through a pretend meadow. She smiles, the horses reminding her of Tara for just one instant-then the sight of the girls bringing with it the image of Kennedy. They look more like her everyday. Annie picks up a piece of paper from under the edge of the toy chest. "What did you find?"

"A picture I made-when I was having those bad dreams."

"Can I see?" She hands it to her mother. " Can I have it?" She stares at the mountains and caves surrounded by water.

"Sure Mommy."

"Thank you-"

The little girl sees the smile fade and takes her hand- "It's okay the dreams are gone."

"And so are the bad men." Adds Aly.

"Yes they are." She hugs then both careful not to damage the picture.

Kennedy walks into the house and Willow smiles at her. "How was the workout?"

"Good- felt right. I missed it-I think not working out was the main reason for the crazies."

"Could be-"

She walks over to her redhead and kisses her lips. "Where are the girls?"

"Bed-" smiles the witch.

"Bed? So we could-?" She touches the button on Willow's blouse.

"We could but ah-Buffy -I told her I'd be over when you got back."

"She doesn't know that I'm back." She smiles.

"You got a point-" Kennedy backs her against the wall her hands massaging the redhead's breasts.

"Ah-mmm-some-someone has a bad case of H&H." She squeezes her eyes closed tightly as Kennedy's knee finds her center. "S-slow down baby-" she turns Kennedy so that her back rests against her. Her hands slide down the young Slayer's body tracing the curves before one slips into her jeans after unbuttoning them. "So-ready-"

"Please-" moans Kennedy.

Willow takes her quickly-sliding two fingers in and then back out then back home again.

Buffy, Giles, and Xander each look at the picture in turn as Willow paces nervously. "You think he's here-?" asks Giles.

"Were ever here is?" questions Xander.

"Yeah-find this place you'll find them."

Faith standing in the doorway responds, "Whatever you say Red."

Willow turns surprised, "Faith?"

"Hey-miss me?"

"What are you doing here?"

Faith looks at Buffy before answering. "B called needed some help."

"Buffy-?"

"Call Kennedy-I'll tell you what we know."

An hour later Kennedy is sitting next to Willow on the couch, Giles, Buffy, and Faith are sitting in chairs around them. Xander and Dawn are keeping the girls busy on the other side of the room.

Kennedy is angry- "You should have told me!"

"We were going to tell you both," her eyes meet Willow's "when we had more definite plans. Faith and I are going to do some Sherlocking around-hit the demon bars and see what we can find out."

"I'm going too-" says the young Slayer.

Faith smiles as she looks at the young woman's rounded stomach then into her eyes, "Don't think so Jr. B and I got it under control."

Willow watches the hurt feel her Slayer's eyes. It takes everything Kennedy has to keep the tears at bay until she can get out of the room. Willow shoots Faith an evil look and follows her wife from the room.

Buffy smacks Faith's arm- "What it's the truth she doesn't need in the middle of this."

"She's in the middle of this-it's her kids he's after." Answers Buffy.

"Right, that's why you told her everything."

"They don't need to know about the First until we're sure."

"And the fact that they're best buds doesn't mean a thing."

In the hallway of the Academy Willow finally catches up with Kennedy. "Kennedy," the redhead calls her name.

Kennedy stops and tries to wipe the tears away but can't stop them as Willow reaches her. "It's my job Will-they're my kids."

"They're our kids-and right now our job is to keep them safe. Let Faith and Buffy to the dirty work. Let them find this guy-"

"I feel so useless-"

"No-no you're not." Her arms encircle her Slayer and she kisses her forehead. "You're not."

Heaven and Hell
Buffy and Faith have been to at least ten different demon haunts but have had no luck.

"This would be the time having Anya or Spike around would have been an asset." Buffy shakes her head as they continue to walk.

All they have managed to find out is that the demon population is more afraid of him than the two Slayers. Frustrated the Slayers start for home.

"Now what?" asks the dark Slayer.

"We keep looking-"

"I'm tired of looking-I need to hit something!" No sooner are the words out of her mouth then they are attacked by a group of about eight vampires. "And you'll do just fine-" she says as one lunges at her and she hits him square on the chin. The fight continues as the Slayers work together to quickly dust all of them. As they do Faith smiles, "Now that's better." She moves her shoulder around trying to get a pain to go away. Buffy smiles.

"Let's try one more place-" says the blonde Slayer.

"Might as well, hell maybe we can rumble again."

"Never gonna change are you?"

"I hope not." As they start to walk again three suited demons appear before them. "Think these guys can help."

"Could be right."

They attack the Slayers and as they fight each is able to kill one of the demons-Faith grabs the last one and keeps him in a choke hold. "Looky what I got here B-"

Buffy smiles then looks serious, "Where's your boss?" He doesn't respond. Faith tightens her grasp and the demon struggles for air. "Last chance-" the guy starts to vanish and as he does Buffy pulls Faith away.

He disappears and Faith yells, "Damn B what are you doing?"

"Saving your ass as usual."

"No- he was taking me to the Ancient!"

"Maybe-but there's just a slight problem with that though-"

"What problem?-It wasn't your idea?"

"It was a one way trip."

"But if I kill his ass Red's kids are safe right?"

Buffy nods understanding and realizing for the first time Faith has changed. "We'll find another way."

"And if we can't?"

"We'll be better prepared."

"Okay-"

Buffy is sitting on the balcony with Kennedy and Willow-Faith is in the playroom with Annie and Aly. "We'll find him- we have a plan-well actually it's Faith's plan."

"Faith has a plan?" Willow asks unsure. "I didn't think she planned."

"She does- just usually it isn't this well thought out."

Kennedy's eyes meet Buffy's, "This Ancient-when you find him, how do we stop him?"

"Like we stop everything else."

The young Slayer nods. Willow squeezes her hand and kisses her lips gently. She whispers, "Try not to worry." Her hand goes to Kennedy's rounded stomach.

She whispers back, "I'll try."

Buffy tries to allow them their privacy, "We should go it's late."

Willow walks Buffy to the door and through the bedroom and the hallway to the playroom. They are quiet the entire way. Finally Willow speaks- "What aren't you telling us?"

"It's nothing-"

"Buffy?"

"Willow this guy-he's really bad-"

"How bad?"

"The First bad-"

Willow nods- "I thought so-"

"We won't let him hurt the girls I promise." Again the redhead nods. Buffy hugs her as she fights tears. She pulls away after composing herself.

"I know." They walk into the room and see Faith playing dolls with them. They smile as they watch surprised. Faith sensing someone there looks up-she smiles too.

A few nights later Kennedy and Willow are trying to sleep. Kennedy is nervous about her check up- they are going to do the first ultrasound and Willow is still dealing with the news Buffy told her. Each shift, trying to get comfortable. Finally Willow spoons herself protectively around her Slayer. She whispers, "You need to rest baby." Her hands settle on Kennedy's stomach.

"Can't-" is Kennedy's one word response.

"Nervous about tomorrow?" She asks as she presses her lips to Kennedy's head.

"A little-" she admits.

Willow turns to face her and kisses her lips softly, she pulls away and her hand touches Kennedy's cheek. "The worst part is the gel-it's all cold." Willow shivers as she snuggles closer.

"I remember-" she forces a smile but Willow doesn't buy it.

"Tell me what has you nervous?"

"What if all this worrying and stress-what if something's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong-she's growing everyday." Her hand rubs Kennedy's stomach. "She's fine-"

The young Slayer nods- "Okay that makes sense."

"Now sleep-"

"Can't-"

"Still nervous?"

"No-"

"Then what?" asks the redhead playfully.

Kennedy's hand slides down the redhead's body and stops at the waistband of her pajamas. She slips her fingers just under the band and looks into her lover's eyes. "Okay?"

"You should rest."

"Don't want rest-" Willow bites her bottom lip and tries to keep her breathing calm as her Slayer's fingers move lower. "I want you.- Can I have you?"

"Always-" she breathes out as Kennedy's fingers begin to explore. They kiss passionately, tongues battling playfully.

The next day Kennedy and Willow are in the ultra sound room. Annie and Aly are sitting on a tall chair beside Willow who is holding Kennedy's hand. The young Slayer is lying on a table. The doctor and the ultra sound tech walk in together. "Are we ready?"

"I guess-" she arranges her clothes so that her stomach is exposed. The girls watch quietly.

"Cold gel-" she states.

"I warned her-" adds Willow.

The doctor applies the gel and Kennedy holds her breath for a second then let's it out. "Right about the cold."

"You okay Mama?" asks Annie concerned.

"Mama's fine-" she smiles at the child.

The tech turns on the monitor and the doctor takes the wand and puts it on her stomach. She moves it around slowly. An image appears on the screen and the doctor smiles across at the mothers. Willow and Kennedy watch amazed. "Can you see?"

"Yeah-" is Kennedy's soft comment. She looks at the redhead as they battle tears. "Red-"

"I know-" she wipes her eyes.

"Is that our baby?" Asks Aly.

The doctor moves the wand settles on a shadow behind the baby. "Babies-"

"Excuse me?" asks Kennedy as she and Willow both look at her.

"Babies-I think." She again moves the wand. "Ah-no baby."

"Just one right?" Kennedy is still concerned.

"One-" She moves the wand again. "Honestly-the way the baby is positioned I can't be sure."

Willow smiles at Kennedy, "Twins-we know how to do twins."

"No-you know how to do twins-I'm not sure I can do one."

"Let's go with one-at least until the next visit. I haven't heard two heart beats-so it's probably a shadow."

Kennedy lets out the breath she didn't realize she was holding, "One-okay."

"Do you want to know if it's a boy or girl?"

Kennedy looks at her redhead and she nods, "Tell us."

She again moves the wand, "Boy-"

"Boy?" is Willow stunned reply. "Boy?"

"Boy-no mistake about that." She smiles.

"It's a brother," the girls say in unison.

"A little boy-" Willow smiles. "That's new." She squeezes Kennedy's hand as she smiles. She leans down and kisses her. She whispers in her ear. "A little boy."

Kennedy's tears finally fall, "A boy." She smiles. They watch him as the ultra sound tech takes pictures for them.

Weeks later Willow is fixing breakfast. On the refrigerator you see the ultra sound pictures plus pictures of the twins. Also there is their "art" work. Annie and Aly are at the table talking. They are discussing baby names. "Can we name him Spike?"

Willow smiles as the name brings with it sad and happy images. "Not so much-no."

"Why not?" Kennedy comes in an saves her, the twins distracted.

"Morning Mama." They say together.

"Morning," she answers as she kisses each one and walks over to her redhead. She puts her arms around her and kisses her neck. "Morning."

Willow turns in her arms and kisses her lips. "Hey you-feeling okay?"

"Tired-but good."

"Crawl back in bed-I'll bring you breakfast."

"I want to eat with the girls."

"Just so you know they want to name the baby Spike-or Steve."

"Steve?-Do we know a Steve?"

"Steve from Blues Clues." Willow smiles and kisses her lips softly. "Sure you don't want to go back to bed?"

"I'll talk them out of it."

"You think?" Her hand goes to Kennedy's growing stomach- "How's Mommy's boy?" To their surprise he kicks. Their eyes meet.

"Will he-he-" she can't finish as tears fall.

Willow finishes for her, "He kicked."

"He kicked," repeats the emotional young Slayer. "He really did." She moves her hand next to the redhead's and waits from him to move again.

A few days later a tired young Slayer is laying on the floor of the playroom watching the twins draw. She smiles at their pictures of stuffed animals and balls for their little brother. Soon her eyes close and she sleeps. Aly touches Annie's hand and she points to their mama. "I'm going to get her a blanket."

"Okay," says Annie as she continues to draw.

Aly gets up and goes across the room to the closet to get the blanket. As she opens it a suited demon steps out-his smile is evil. The child is too stunned to move as he reaches for her she screams- "Mama!-Mama!"

Protector
Annie looks up from the picture when she hears Aly. She sees the demon grab her sister and she yells, "Mommy!- Mama!" Annie makes a barrier as Kennedy opens her eyes, but it holds both the demon and the child. Kennedy sees the demon with Aly and gets to her feet at about the same time as the witch runs through the door. The redhead watches in horror as her daughter tries to get away.

When Kennedy reaches them Annie lowers the barrier and the young Slayer swings at the demon. The punch lands on his jaw and he loses his hold on the girl. Annie drags her away and Willow runs to them. Kennedy continues to fight the demon. He knocks her to the floor and she lands hard against the wall. "Kennedy!"

She looks toward Willow as she struggles to her feet. "Get them out-"

"I won't leave you-" She puts a barrier around the Slayer and she is livid.

"What are you doing?"

Willow raises her hand and hits him with a blast of energy. He vanishes-the redhead releases the barrier and exhausted falls to the floor. She looks toward the girls as they run to the young Slayer. Kennedy is sitting now with her hand on her stomach. Willow pulls herself to her feet and walks to them. "Baby?" Her voice full of worry.

"I'm okay-" but Willow sees the grimace.

"Let me call the doctor." Their eyes meet, fighting tears Kennedy nods. Annie runs to the phone and brings it to her mommy.

Later Kennedy is lying in a hospital bed, her eyes closed. Her doctor is waiting for test results and has decided to keep her over night. Willow is sitting on the side of the bed holding her hand. She is surprised to hear Kennedy's voice- soft and scared. "I could have lost him-if you hadn't- I wasn't thinking."

"You were worried about Aly-she was in danger."

"I'm sorry," tears begin to fall.

"Shhhh-no-don't -okay, he's okay." She crawls into the bed beside her and spoons her body against the young mother. She rests her hands on Kennedy's rounded stomach. "We're all okay."

An hour later the door opens and Buffy sees Willow lying next to Kennedy who appears to be sleeping. "Hey," she speaks quietly. "The girls are pretty beat- You want me to take them to my place or yours?"

"Yours," she answers as she gets carefully from the bed. She follows Buffy back into the hallway. "Do me a favor?"

"Anything-"

"Take Faith, and the others with you?"

"That was the plan."

"How'd they get inside?"

"Not sure- but it won't happen again. We'll have someone watching 24/7."

"There's not enough people."

"Then we'll just have to send for reinforcements. Vi and the others can be here in a day." Adds Faith as she joins them.

"That leaves the hellmouth unprotected."

"It was unprotected for years-won't hurt a thing."

"Okay-"

"How's Junior?"

"Resting-she'll be okay-she has to be."

Xander comes over with the girls. He is carrying both of them. They are tired and scared. "Mommy-" Aly reaches for her.

Willow takes her in her arms and hugs her. "Hey baby girl." She kisses her head.

Annie reaches for her too- "Mommy."

Willow sets Aly on the ground and kneels beside her, Annie runs into her arms and she holds them both tightly. "It's okay.-Guess what?" She forces a fake smile.

"What?" they ask in unison.

"You get to have a sleepover with Aunt B and Faith-"

"And Xander?" Asks Annie as she smiles.

"Yep- Xander and Dawnie and Giles. Does that sound fun?"

Both girls nod temporarily forgetting the terrible day of demons and hospitals. The redhead kisses each of them and waves good-bye as Buffy and Faith each pick up a child. They wave back as they leave. Xander hugs Willow tightly. "You want me to stay with you?"

"No-I want you with them."

He nods and kisses her forehead. "Call if you need me." She nods fighting tears. He leaves and they fall down her face. She goes back into the room and sits beside the her Slayer.

Late that night Buffy and Faith sit in the room with the sleeping girls. They can't sleep, they are trying to come up with a plan of attack. "This guy just needs a good ass kicking like his buddy."

"True-the question is how?"

They hear a voice from the doorway. "I know a way."

"Let's hear it," says the dark Slayer.

"The scythe-its power-"

Buffy nods, "Okay-but how do we find him?"

"Hitch a ride." Answers Faith.

A few days later Kennedy is home but has been ordered to rest. She has her feet propped up on the couch and her head lying on Willow's lap. The redhead's had is gently rubbing her rounded stomach.

Xander is sitting in an oversized chair facing them. A sleeping Aly is snuggled in his arms. Buffy and Faith are sitting at the counter with Dawn standing beside them.

Kennedy looks toward Buffy as she slowly sits up. She leans against Willow. "What's this plan?" Willow presses a kisses against her hair as she puts her arms around her love.

"Actually," says Faith it's "D's" plan."

Dawn smiles and looks at Kennedy, "We have the power of the scythe, we could use it against the Ancient."

"What power? It makes Slayers-"

"No-there's more to it-I could feel it."

Dawn continues with her plan, "Willow could use a glamour-"

Willow realizes what she is suggesting, "So we set up the suits?" Buffy nods.

Suddenly the child in Xander's arms begins to talk in her sleep. "No-no go away-bad-no! No!" She struggles to get away from him. She opens her eyes and uses her energy to push him back, it holds him putting a barrier in place.

Kennedy gets to her feet before the redhead can and is at the girl's side. "Baby-no-it's okay." She kneels in front of her. "It's just Xander see?" The girl looks at him and lets the barrier fall. Exhausted she falls into the young Slayer's arms. She starts to stand with her but she stops as she feels Willow's hand on her shoulder. She looks at the witch as she again tries to comfort her daughter. "It's okay-Mama's got you-shhhh."

Later the child is again sleeping but is now in Willow's arms. Kennedy is holding her hand. They have been listening to Dawn's plan in more detail. She seems to think from her readings, that the power of the scythe could indeed defeat the Ancient as it had held the First Evil at bay.

The young Slayer speaks, "I don't like it." She looks at Willow then at Buffy, "I'm the Slayer, it should be me."

"We got more Slayers then we can possibly use," says Faith.

Buffy adds, "We need the Guardian and that's Will-"

"We think," adds Dawn.

"You think?-Willow this is dangerous-and they're not sure-"

"We have to try." Says the redhead firmly.

Kennedy stands Willow can see that she is upset, close to tears. "It's crazy-I'm not gonna let you do it." She walks across to the door. Willow looks at Buffy and Faith, then starts after Kennedy once she settles the child on the couch.

"Red sure has her hands full-"

Buffy smiles, "I don't think she minds." She watches the couple together. "She loves her."

Willow puts her arms around her young Slayer and rests her hands on her stomach. Her lips press against her shoulder. "Talk to me baby."

Kennedy leans against the redhead, she takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, "They don't know if you are the Guardian."

"White hair, all powerful Slayer maker, it's a pretty safe bet sweetie."

"What about my dream- the part where you turn all big bad Willow?"

"It didn't happen last time, the scythe it's of the good-I don't think evil can touch it."

"But the dream?"

"The dreams warn us-makes us see what could happen, it doesn't mean it will."

"Doesn't mean it won't." She fights tears, "I can't lose you Will-I couldn't live-" she stops as she tries to compose herself.

Willow turns her to face her and kisses her on the forehead. "You won't lose me-I promise."

"Let me help?"

"You are helping, you have the most important job. You keep our kids safe."

Kennedy's dark eyes meet Willow's emerald, "Promise you'll be careful?"

Willow nods fighting her own tears. "Promise." Her hand rests on Kennedy's stomach they can feel the baby moving around, unsettled. "He knows we're upset." She kneels in front of her Slayer and puts her face even with the young Slayer's tummy. "Shhh-it's okay. Don't worry baby-shhh." Kennedy holds the redhead to her as they both struggle to stay in control of their emotions.

Buffy looks at Faith who is noticeably moved. The dark Slayer looks away. "You okay?" Asks Buffy.

"Five by five B-"
