OCR Improvement
The IPT AutoOptimizer™ is ideal for preprocessing images intended for Optical Character Recognition.

The images below illustrate the enhancement power of the AutoOptimizer™ when dealing with typical printed or hand written text. This type of form is standard for many diverse applications in various fields. The first image is a portion of a standard scanner's output with no enhancement. The second image is of the same section of a page, but this time the output is from the AutoOptimizer. The enhancement achieved enables any character recognition software to provide optimal results.

BEFORE

AFTER

We have compiled a set of statistics on the improvement offered by our AutoOptimizer™ when used in conjunction with OCR software. The test was performed on two different scanners, and at two different resolution settings. The graphs shown below illustrate the improvement in results obtained with enhancement provided by the AutoOptimizer™. The vertical axis represents the correctness of the OCR software's output compared to the actual page, zero being entirely incorrect, one being perfect. The horizontal axis represents different documents, numbered one to ten, and a final cumulative average labelled "overall" on the far right of each graph.
