IPT/SAS for Windows™ is a Windows based document imaging application. IPT/SAS for Windows allows you to scan your documents into the computer, index them based on your indexing requirements, and automatically release them for public searching.

IPT/SAS for Windows™ is a highly adaptable, user-friendly system for image archiving and retrieval. It is designed for use in a wide variety of imaging environments. It provides a user-expandable, open-system solution for all business imaging needs including legal office support, medical systems and records, employee benefits programs, banking processes, mortgage operations and city, county and state records management.

IPT/SAS for Windows™ can be networked or used as a stand-alone system to scan, index, manipulate (pan, zoom, rotate, flip, deskew, enhance, etc.), print, and display images. Using an intuitive Windows interface an operator can scan images one at a time or in a continuous batch manner. Because it works with well defined standards, configuring IPT/SAS to work with network based resources is as easy as using it on a stand-alone machine.

IPT/SAS for Windows™ uses the ODBC API to connect to any ODBC ready SQL-based database making it easy to adapt for a variety of applications and environments.

Unique to IPT/SAS is the ability to scan and process gray scale images and to invoke real-time image enhancement using IPT's AutoOptimizer™, a hardware device peripheral for scanners that restores original image quality to scanned documents. These two features enable users to obtain optimal results when creating images from less than perfect source documents or when archival quality is required.

IPT/SAS for Windows™ can be used with the IPT/GS™ Image Capture Board which enables scanning in gray scale, binary or dual mode without the need to modify the scanner speed. The software and hardware combination allows transparent use to the operator. In addition, unique image processing features can be enabled for grayscale or binary enhancement.

Features:

Supports Grayscale and Binary image formats and display.

Modular design allows for easy customization.

Independent index and book databases.

Supports multiple index databases.

Customized indexes available.

Interfaces to IPT's AutoOptimizer.™

Customizable work flow through its modules.

Provides utilities to prepare documents for CD-R generation.

Supports microfilm scanning via the Mekel 500 Microfilm Scanner.

Supports high speed scanning via the Kodak 500 or 5500 SCSI scanner.

IPT/SAS for Windows ships in a variety of different configurations depending on your imaging needs. Some installations require index information to be stored with images, while others may only need to scan gray scale images for CD-R creation. Still others require the full suite of processing software. Below is a list of the available configurations, allowing the system to be customized to a particular need.
Full Package - All modulesWindows NT 4.0 only
Scan Station - Scan Module, Edit ModuleWindows NT 4.0 only
Index Station - Index Module, Verify ModuleWindows NT 4.0, Windows 95
View Station - View ModuleWindows NT 4.0, Windows 95

Also included are external utilities which provide additional support functions. DB Admin allows administrators to create their own custom database index tables through an easy to use graphical interface. These tables are then automatically added to the list of available indices in the Index Module portion of the program the next time the program is run. The Transfer utility is used to assemble pages from the database into a linear order for storage to secondary media. The program allows for custom file name templates allowing the book name, page number, copy number and file extension to be ordered by the user. Also supported are partial transfers which allow books larger than a single storage media to be easily broken into sections.
